Looking for fan-favorite ways to boost ticket sales? Learn from Minor League Baseball's Great Lakes Loons! Blending baseball and the best of Michigan summers, it hosted a first-of-its-kind "Pontooners Weekend" on July 11 to 13 to drive single-game and group ticket sales (without detracting from July 4 games). Using the StellarAlgo fan engagement platform, they identified an ideal segment of fans to target last-minute purchasing using a multi-channel campaign with Facebook ads and text messages. Just got back from an incredible #LeadersWeek in London! I had the privilege of engaging in valuable discussions with global sports leaders and gained fresh insights into the latest trends and innovations shaping our industry. Some of my key takeaways: 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝘀 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁. As Sanjog Gupta from Disney Star highlighted, fanbases are not homogenous. Technology continues to disrupt consumer behavior and we must find new ways to build meaningful relationships with supporters. 𝗗𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗱𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗿𝗮𝗽𝗶𝗱 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲, 𝘄𝗲 𝗺𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗹𝘆. That’s the challenge from Rory Sutherland of Ogilvy UK. Are we moving too fast to make intelligent decisions? How can we step out of conventional wisdom and our echo chambers to be truly disruptive? 𝗪𝗲’𝗿𝗲 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗳𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗳𝗮𝗻 𝗯𝗮𝘀𝗲𝘀, with 50% of sports properties commercializing less than 10% of their databases.
