(Calgary, AB), Tersa Earth (Vancouver, BC), TerraFixing (Ottawa, ON), and Ayrton Energy (Calgary, AB) were named to the 2024 #Cleantech50toWatch - Cleantech Group's global list of companies taking action on the climate crisis ⭐ Spherical Rotors Inc. (Calgary, AB) is one of the winners of the NGIF Capital Global Cleantech Challenge. ⭐ Planetary (Dartmouth, NS) demonstrated that Ocean Alkalinity Enhancement is safe and effective. ⭐ Carbon Lock Tech (Winnipeg, MB) won the Canadian Global Entrepreneurship Network Entrepreneurship World Cup & was selected for $100K purchase through Kiloton Fund Carbon Removal Investments with Shopify. ⭐ Carbon Upcycling Technologies (Calgary, AB) was certified as a B Corporation by B Lab. ⭐ Arca (Vancouver, BC) and pH7 Technologies (Vancouver, BC) are among the 9 companies receiving $7.6M through B.C. Centre for Innovation and Clean Energy (CICE)'s first 2024 Call for Innovation. ⭐ CarbonGraph (Toronto, ON) launched EcoScan - the easiest way to produce a basic, screening-level Life Cycle Assessment. ⭐ VoltSafe Inc. (Vancouver, BC) won a Soundings Trade Only Most Innovative Marine Company Award at IBEX, International BoatBuilders' Exhibition & Conference. ⭐ Properate (Vancouver, BC) and the BC Ministry of Energy, Mines, and Low Carbon Innovation expanded the BC Home Energy Planner program to the City of New Westminster, providing homeowners with personalized virtual energy assessments. ⭐ Frontier has facilitated $4.5M of carbon removal pre-purchases from 9 companies, including our alumni NULIFE GreenTech (Saskatoon, SK) and Exterra Carbon Solutions (Montreal, QC) ⭐Cascadia Seaweed (Sidney, BC) secured $3.85 million towards their 6M Series A round target. ⭐ TreeTrack (Port Coquitlam, BC) and VulcanX (Vancouver, BC) were selected in the 2024 top 10 Startups in the New Ventures BC competition, presented by Innovate BC.
