As summer winds down and harvest season ramps up, we’re reminded of our shared commitment with our host-landowners to be responsible stewards of Alberta’s valuable agricultural lands.   At Versorium, we work closely with host-landowners from the early stages of facility development through construction and operations. Together, we work to reduce disruptions to farming and agricultural activities, often adjusting facility locations to maximize agricultural land use and minimize land fragmentation.   With a small facility footprint, we’re able to limit environmental impacts while preserving Alberta’s prime agricultural land.   We believe it is our responsibility and obligation to contribute to the future well-being of our province. “Success usually comes to those who are too busy to be looking for it.” It’s been an incredibly busy summer for Versorium, and we couldn’t be happier with the milestones we’ve achieved so far this year. In July, we connected our first project to Alberta’s electricity system. This month, we’re commencing commissioning our second project, Netook 1 DER. By employing a standardized design across our first portfolio of project sites, we’re able to streamline the execution of construction and commissioning, allowing us to bring our fast reacting and flexible projects online in a safe and timely manner. With mtu gas gensets from Rolls-Royce, our customer Versorium Energy Ltd. is supporting the #energytransition in Alberta, Canada with their decentralized #energy systems. Versorium announced that it recently connected the first system to Alberta's power grid. The Benalto 1 DER project can now respond to changes in the electricity market within minutes and provide 5 MW of reliable power whenever Alberta needs it. An exciting week for Versorium. Our first facility connected to the Alberta electricity system earlier this week. The Benalto 1 DER Project, our first project to be commissioned, can respond to changes in the electricity market within minutes, providing 5 MW of supply when Alberta requires it.    We are able to deliver world-class efficiency in our fast response projects, which are more efficient than facilities ten times the size. A proud moment for the Versorium team and a milestone in our project development! Last week, the generation and e-house modules were delivered and set on their foundations at our Benalto 1 DER project, marking the first project in our portfolio to commence commissioning. This project will support the Alberta electrical grid during times of high electricity consumption. Our fast responding and flexible generation platform will help to ensure a reliable electric system today and in the future. As we kick-off our 2024 construction season, we are reminded of our Zero is Real safety policy. We believe that all injuries are preventable and expect our employees and anyone working on our behalf speak up about unsafe work conditions so actions can be taken to address concerns or stop unsafe work immediately. With over 4,200 exposure hours and zero safety or environmental incidents in 2023, we remain committed to protecting our people, the public and the environment as we carry out Phase 1 and Phase 2 construction activities throughout 2024. A key aspect in our regulatory applications is carrying out meaningful consultation and engagement with stakeholders. We take great pride in our stakeholder engagement program, and this reflects our pledge to conduct our business activities with integrity, honesty and truthfulness.   We have successfully permitted 11 projects across Alberta, engaging with hundreds of local area landowners and other stakeholders to communicate our project plans.   With an expected 25+ year operating life, Versorium's projects will become a fixture in the communities where they are located, and being a good neighbour from early stage development into the construction and operations phase is our commitment. We are excited to announce the arrival of our first engine in Alberta. These engines were carefully selected based on their ability to respond rapidly to address changing market needs, their high efficiency, and low NOx emissions. The deployment of this specific engine in Alberta is more efficient than a turbine twenty times its size. These engines have the ability to utilize both natural gas and hydrogen. A key feature as market demand for clean power technology evolves.
