🌟Representation matters but so does the power of community 🌟 The women around us can inspire us to break boundaries and redefine what’s possible especially in the world of science. The partnership between the two – representation and community are extremely vital in today’s world. 👩🏻🏫 Just like Isadora says, we need visible role models and supportive networks to empower the next generation of scientists. Spreading the spirit of CERN scientific curiosity, for the inspiration and benefit of society
Info
The purpose of the Foundation is to support and promote the mission of CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, and disseminate its benefits to the wider public. The Foundation operates nationally and internationally to pursue its mission, across three main areas: Education & Outreach, Innovation & Knowledge Exchange, and Culture & Creativity. Since 2018, the CERN & Society Foundation also supports and promotes the operation of the Globe of Science and Innovation, notably through its use as a venue for scientific exhibitions, conferences, meetings and public debates. Our main objectives are to: 1. Promote public understanding of science and the various ways it affects our daily life; 2. Encourage and support young people’s interest in the subjects of science, technology, engineering and mathematics, with an emphasis on physics and engineering (STEM); 3. Improve people’s lives by means of innovative technologies; 4. Build capacity in developing countries by providing people with scientific knowledge and tools; and 5. Foster creative synergies between science and culture, stimulating inspiration and enriching the cultural landscape. Since 2017, the Foundation Board has decided to focus its efforts on projects targeting Youth & Education.

“I have been interested in physics for a few years but before this experience I didn’t have any career in mind. Beamline for Schools has in a way put the possibility of what I can do on the table. It has made my dream of being a physicist a reality.”, - says one of our BL4S Winners, Theo Buckridge from Team ‘SPEEDers’ of USA. 🎓 ✨ The Beamline for Schools competition opens a world of possibilities for students passionate about science. For many, like Theo, the experience offers more than just hands-on learning – it provides direction and inspiration. ✨ 🔗 Learn how BL4S helps discover the limitless potential of a career in physics:https://lnkd.in/dhaSAHE #BL4S #STEMEducation CERN #students #beamline #CERNandSociety

Challenging stereotypes begins with questioning what we’re told. As a part of our Women in STEM digital initiative, we are exploring how women from different ages and backgrounds have pushed the boundaries and entered fields of science.👩🏻🏫 Like Amina’s story, there are many young girls and women who refuse to let outdated beliefs hold them back. From classrooms to laboratories, they have defied expectations, overcome obstacles, and redefined what it means to be a scientist. 💙 👩🏻💻 These stories inspire future generations to follow their passion, proving that no matter where you come from, you can contribute to shaping the future of science. ✨ Join us and young scientists like Amina in celebrating their courage, resilience, and groundbreaking achievements ✨ Share with us in the comments your experience as a woman in STEM to inspire more girls in following this path ⬇️ CERN #WomenInSTEM #CERNandSociety #BreakingBarriers #STEMForAll

🌍✨ Today, on #InternationalDayOfTheGirl, we celebrate the power, potential, and possibilities of girls everywhere! 💡 In today's society, the dream gap — a phenomenon where young girls are deterred from pursuing their aspirations due to gender biases — casts a big shadow over the trajectory of future generations, particularly in STEM fields. At the CERN & Society Foundation, we believe in creating opportunities for young women and girls to unlock their potential. Approximately 40% of the students we supported through the Beamline for Schools, Non-Member State Summer Programme and CERN National Teachers Programme were the young girls and women. 👩🔬🔬 Together, we can ensure that every girl has access to education, equality, and the tools needed to succeed in STEM. Join us in supporting a brighter, more diverse future for all! 💪👧🌟 CERN #STEMforGirls #DayoftheGirl #CERNandSociety #EqualityForAll
