🌟 Meet Chiral at NT24! 📍 Kresge Auditorium, Massachusetts Institute of Technology We are thrilled to share that our recent talk at NT24 was a resounding success! Thanks to Maria El Abbassi for illustrating a year's worth of progress to a highly interested audience. The presentation not only sparked a wave of intriguing questions but also drew significant attention to our booth, engaging many nanomaterial researchers. The day was capped off with a wonderful reception and dinner organized by the conference, providing a perfect setting for further discussions and networking. Big thanks to the organizers for hosting such a memorable evening. 💡 We are here for two more days until the end of the conference. We look forward to welcoming more of you at our booth at the Kresge Auditorium of MIT! #Chiral #NT24 #Nanotechnology #MIT #ConferenceHighlights #IndustryEngagement #InnovationInFocus

USD 3.8 million to power the nanomaterial-driven electronics revolution: ETH Zürich spin-off Chiral secures pre-seed funding. Exciting news - let's congratulate the brilliant team of innovators Marko Nikolić, Seoho Jung, Maria El Abbassi, Natanael Lanz, Andre Butzerin, and Luca Ornago! https://lnkd.in/emnS_Mhk This financing round was co-led by Founderful and HCVC, alongside funding from ETH Zürich and Venture Kick. About: The chip industry is eager to incorporate nanomaterials like carbon nanotubes, graphene, and molybdenum disulfide into semiconductor devices, enabling pioneeringtechnologies. The nanoelectronics market, currently worth USD 200 billion, is set to double in the next five years. Yet, the key obstacle is the slow production of nanoelectronicdevices. Chiral is determined to tackle this challenge. Leveraging their expertise in nanotechnology, automation, and high-precision engineering, the CEO Seoho Jung, CTO and COO Natanael Lanz, and CPO Andre Butzerinhave already achieved a remarkable increase in the speed of producing nanotube-based devices. With a clear R&D roadmap, they are gaining customers in different sectors ranging from quantum technology to sensors. Chiral Nano is a 2023 alumnus of Venture Kick. #VentureKick #SwissStartups

MLL Legal advised Chiral on all legal and tax aspects of its Pre-Seed Financing Round, including the structuring of the investment, the #negotiation of all transactional documents and the #tax planning. Chiral is an ETH Zürich spin-off specialized in the development and commercialization of nanomaterials. The Company’s founders, all ETH graduates, developed a technology for fabricating high-quality carbon nanotube electronics with multiple commercial use cases, ranging from quantum and sensors to computer chips. The high-end technology achieved market readiness unusually fast, so that Chiral is in a position to start commercializing its products less than a year after inception of the business. Trusting in the value of the #technology and its bright commercial perspective, Founderful and HCVC, two reputable venture capital investors, invested substantial equity #funding in Chiral. ETH in turn greatly facilitated the progress of its spin-off, by providing relentless support to the founders and granting Chiral the use rights to its key technology. This step is a display of ETH’s trust in a business vision backed by a high potential technology, two first class investors and three scientists with an exceptional entrepreneurial flair. The #team was led by Christian Rebell (partner, M&A and venture capital) and further included Thomas Nabholz (partner, tax), Loredana Hartmann (associate, M&A and venture capital) and Rebecca Isenegger (associate, notary public). https://lnkd.in/gCASUJBM #legal #mlllegal

Chiral hat dies direkt geteilt
Earlier this week, we announced Chiral 's pre-seed round co-led by Founderful and HCVC. We were invited to share our story with Forbes - please check it out! 🙏 Nanomaterials like carbon nanotube and graphene were supposed to be the next big thing already 20 years ago. Today, they are still considered the ‘next’ big thing. Everyone says nanomaterials will revolutionize electronics/chips, but how to integrate these materials into chips remains a challenge. Chiral’s answer to this challenge is to use fully automated, high-precision robotic machines. I had worked with nanomaterials for years, but I did not think it would be possible for a robotic machine to handle carbon nanotubes (they are 100000x thinner than our hair) and place them on electronics - until I met my co-founders Natanael Lanz and Andre Butzerin. They are the main architects and builders of what made Chiral possible. The announcement is mainly about our fundraising, but what has happened since then is even more exciting. Our work is getting more robust and more automated every week, and it’s all because of Maria El Abbassi, Luca Ornago, and Marko Nikolić. Startup textbook says we should aim to unlock something new with every new member, and for us, this has definitely been the case! When we met Founderful for the first time, we were just a group of 3 students. I still don’t know what they saw in us back then - I guess I should just say thanks to Pascal Mathis, Edouard Treccani, and the rest of the Founderful team for believing in our potential. And not much later, we were very happy to have HCVC on our side. Big thanks to Alexis Houssou, Thomas Minot, and the HCVC team for flying over to Zurich to meet us and trusting us immediately. Then, there was a lot of administrative work to be done for the closing of the round. Thanks to Christian Rebell and his MLL Legal team for the legal support and Lars Lünenburger and ETH Transfer for the IP negotiation. A company like ours needs years of foundational R&D. In our case, it was only possible through the research consortium supervised by Prof. Michel Calame at Empa, Prof. Christofer Hierold and Prof. Konrad Wegener at ETH Zürich, and Prof. Martin Jaggi at École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne. We are still supported by these institutions as their spin-off (thank you Mario Jenni @ glatec). We appreciate the financial support of the SFA Advanced Manufacturing program of the ETH Domain. Personally, I am also thankful for all my colleagues at the Micro and Nanosystems group at ETH Zurich for everything I learned from them. Last but not least, thank you David Prosser for bringing our story to life in an amazing article, Bilal M. for genuinely caring about making our story reach as readers as possible, and Keith Ryu for tutoring me on how to raise a round. 😁
