🌱 Exciting News from our portfolio company Everfuel and their HySynergy project! The Hy24 team is proud to celebrate Everfuel major milestone. The company have successfully completed the first hydrogen delivery to the refinery and HySynergy partner Crossbridge Energy A/S. This marks a significant step forward in the journey toward large-scale #green hydrogen production in #Europe, and particularly in #Denmark. 👉 The HySynergy I 20MW project is a pioneering initiative in Europe's hydrogen transition, bringing us closer to a more sustainable energy future. Supported by SparEnergi - Energistyrelsen and the European Union, this project exemplifies the power of collaboration in accelerating the green transition. Jacob Krogsgaard, Founder & CEO of Everfuel, highlights the achievement: "First production and delivery of hydrogen to the refinery is a major milestone for Everfuel and Crossbridge Energy. This is just the beginning—now, society must follow!" Congratulations to Everfuel, Crossbridge Energy, and all partners driving this forward. More to come soon!   PRESS RELEASE: https://lnkd.in/eTsfeYcf

  • 💬 “In this Wild West age of geopolitics, the pursuit of energy dominance resembles the treacherous treasure hunt in ‘The Good, the Bad and the Ugly’.” Pierre-Etienne Franc examines how the current geopolitical dynamics 🌐 between Europe, the United States and China — the three central blocs shaping the energy and climate policy of the planet — will weigh on our collective future. The co-founder and CEO of Hy24 (co-founder and Chairman of FiveT Hydrogen AG) warns that these rivalries are hampering the building of a sustainable energy system, and that “complex alliances are necessary to achieve and share success.” Will the three players eventually find common ground to reach the treasure 🤝 of sustainable energy supply for the planet? ⤵️ Read the full article: https://lnkd.in/eTrAyaQW

  • The H2Global Foundation has officially launched its second auction, worth €2.5 billion. 🌐 The auction for renewable fuels of non-biological origin (RFNBO) is organized into four regional lots and one global lot, and will be funded jointly by the governments of Germany 🇩🇪 and the Netherlands. 🇳🇱 💬 “Each auction and lot accelerates the energy transition, helping to scale markets and drive investment,” said Markus Exenberger, Executive Director of H2Global Foundation and Co-Founder of H2Global. Such mechanisms play a crucial role in boosting the #decarbonization of hard-to-abate sectors. ⏩ read more: https://lnkd.in/d4iKrYYM

  • #ThrowbackSunday Grab a coffee and catch up on what you’ve missed recently ☕ The UK 🇬🇧 is boosting the #decarbonization of the maritime sector with a $37-million round of funding. 🚢 Coastal communities and businesses across the country are expected to benefit from the round 6 of the Clean Maritime Demonstration Competition (CMDC6), which aims at supporting clean maritime technologies including electric, #hydrogen, ammonia, methanol and wind power. ⚡ Previous successful projects that benefited from such funding include the “largest-ever” retrofit of a hydrogen research vessel in Wales, and the installation of a carbon capture system on a vessel. 👉 With the CMDC6, the UK is putting the means to become “a clean energy superpower” and usher in “an era of zero-emission shipping.” Read more: https://lnkd.in/ecSu48PD

  • It’s the first of its kind for H2 in Finland 🇫🇮 and one of the first to start production of this scale in Europe. ⤴️ Finnish company P2X Solutions Oy has kickstarted production at its commercial #greenhydrogen facility in Harjavalta, in the west of the country. The 20-MW plant, which will include a methanation facility, uses renewable electricity supplied by abundantly available wind power. ⚡ The company has plans to build two other similar facilities in the country, with 40 MW and 100 MW of capacity. ➡️ Despite a difficult context, P2X Solutions’ strategy has been “to scale up, bearing market and technological risks in mind” in a gradual manner, saying it was easier to find sufficient customers for a smaller facility. • Oman 🇴🇲 plans to establish what it describes as the world’s first commercial scale liquid hydrogen “corridor” to export to Europe #greenhydrogen that it produces domestically. The project will include the building of a facility in Duqm on Oman’s Arabian Sea coast to liquefy the gas. From there, vessels will deliver the gas to the world’s largest hydrogen terminal in Amsterdam, where it will be either re-gasified and distributed through a pipeline ↔️ to Germany, or moved in its liquefied form by trucks from the Netherlands. 🚚 The first commercial shipment is expected in 2029 or 2030, to begin the first phase that will liquefying 50,000 tons of hydrogen/year, before scaling up to 200,000 tons/year. ⤴️ 👉 This marks a major export project for Oman, which aims to “be one of the top producers of green hydrogen by 2030.” Read more: https://lnkd.in/ebqFutjC

  • #ThrowbackSunday Lhyfe is reinforcing its network in France 🇫🇷 with the construction of a fifth #greenhydrogen production plant. The French H2 producer said its facility located in the northern Hauts-de-France region would supply up to two tons of hydrogen per day for mobility applications, beginning in 2026. The 5MW plant is also expected to help stabilize the region’s power grid, as the unit will be able to modulate its electricity use according to wider power demand. ⚡ 👉 Such infrastructure is key to answering the country’s #decarbonization needs and to contribute to its energy transition and energy sovereignty. I chose the metaphor of Sergio Leone’s western The Good, the Bad and the Ugly to shed light on the respective roles played by Europeans, Americans, and Chinese in today’s global geopolitical landscape. The United States, especially with Trump's return to the administration, takes a brutal approach, prioritizing national interest at the expense of collective challenges. China, often accused of "cheating," has become the undisputed leader in renewable energy thanks to an industry operating at full throttle and strong state support. We, the "good" Europeans, remain faithful to our principles and attached to the rules, sometimes successfully imposing our standards on the rest of the world—such as CBAM. Despite its energy dependence, Europe has the power to set the rules. Europeans are not always fully aware that their status as the world's largest energy consumer—and therefore the largest importer—gives them considerable leverage to set the pace. Read more 👇
