#TestTuesday No. 21: We use our unique global landslide test to examine new components in the overall system involved in #slopestabilization. In this case, high-tensile stainless steel mesh TECCO® G45/2 STAINLESS. This serves as a stabilized cover for 270 tons of loose gravel in a test frame. This is how we simulate a Geobrugg slope stabilization with a 2 x 2-meter nail grid in nature. When a giant crane lifts the frame, the load on the nails and wire mesh increases steadily. In this case, the TECCO® stainless mesh withstood the entire load up to an angle of 75°. Sensors on the nails and mesh document the loads and deformation. In this and the following tests, we examine the suitability of different meshes in various configurations. This project involves widening the national (A35) and regional (RD105) road networks in Alsace, France, and extending existing engineering and hydraulic structures. Génie Civil EURO-TEC was trusted to present the most suitable, easy-to-implement, competitive and, above all, environmentally-friendly design for the temporary embankment stiffening upstream of the ends of the existing structures. Why their solution containing #TECCO was chosen: 💲 An economical solution, often less costly than traditional solutions such as nailed walls, Berlin walls, secant piles, L-walls, etc. 🚀 Quick & easy installation: precise loading of active anchors using our rental tools. 🏗 No special equipment is required: an excavator and a hydraulic breaker are all needed on this project. 💪 A reliable solution proven over 40 years. 🌍 A more virtuous solution for the environment (low-carbon and no use of water resources): no need for concrete to carry out this reinforcement, limited number of machines on the worksite, no need to bring in-fold specific special work machines (drill or carrier and ramming equipment, vibratory hammering). 🔍 The little plus: our team is with you from start to finish, offering technical recommendations, compliance testing and a feasibility study from the tender stage to implementation on site. This project is from the start of the year. Installing both Tecco and Deltax mesh to prevent rock fall from both entrances to a tunnel portal in a limestone quarry. The portal is vital to quarry operations so working quickly and efficiently whilst also allowing quarry traffic through where possible was in the brief. Using 2 of our drills mounted to roto telehandlers with a 35m reach we installed 94 rock anchors up to 4m in length, 500sqm of Geobrugg tecco mesh and 350sqm of Deltax mesh, plus over 100m of cable. All completed within three weeks to minimise the disruption to the quarry. Working alongside Key Geo Solutions who provided the geotechnical design. #irata #ropeaccess #geotechnicalengineering #workingatheight
