🚀 Kuehne+Nagel partners with FLYING WHALES to accelerate the energy transition! 🌍 We announced an exciting partnership with Flying Whales during the #WindEnergyEurope in Hamburg last week! Flying Whales is currently developing the airlifter “LCA60T”, an airship that can carry up to 60 tons of cargo - transforming logistics with hover mode delivery. This technology can be especially useful for transporting goods to challenging and remote locations without proper road access. Flying Whales and Kuehne+Nagel are collaborating to identify market needs and interests from various industries, including capital projects, renewable energy, and industrial sectors. Both companies will work closely to address key development issues, such as cargo securing, hoisting methods, and operational constraints during loading and unloading. Together, we drive innovation and pave the way for a sustainable future. 🌱💡 #sustainability #WindEnergyHamburg #ProjectLogistics

#Visibility in logistics comes with different levels of insights and actionability. Manual milestone updates might be all a business needs when there is a certain degree of flexibility. However, to unlock efficiency gains, reduce product waste, manage deviations and achieve a superior consignee experience, businesses need next-level visibility. Road Customer Visibility was developed with those values in mind. Learn more about our #innovative platform: https://bit.ly/3TsNwCM

How can logistics support Ireland’s healthcare industry growth? This was the topic of the day when Kuehne+Nagel hosted industry experts for an event at their state-of-the-art 160,000 sq ft healthcare logistics facility in Dublin, Ireland.   As Ireland’s Minister of State for Trade Promotion, Digital and Company Regulation, Dara Calleary, said: “As we look to the future, it is clear that the success of advanced therapies like cell and gene treatments will not only depend on scientific breakthroughs, but also on our ability to manage complex logistical demands." We just completed the ultimate test for our innovative web shop, myFairLOG! ✅ The occasion? One of the world's largest #TradeShows for consumer electronics, IFA Berlin 2024, where Kuehne+Nagel is the official logistics partner on behalf of Clarion Events. myFairLOG's primary users are typically exhibitors and contracts who need our services on-site. Nearly 200 of them used the platform to schedule #logistics services such as unloading trailers filled with exhibition booths and materials, and transporting those items with forklifts to the right locations in the exhibition hall. Our team processed over 1000 orders to get the exhibitors up and running. Looking forward to further activating myFairLOG at exhibitions worldwide! 🌍

How can we transport goods across two continents, keep a tight deadline and achieve a remarkable reduction in the carbon footprint? As part of an ongoing partnership between Kuehne+Nagel and Nokia, our team provided a tailored #SeaAir solution for a shipment from Shanghai, China, to Nouakchott, Mauritania. Twenty-five pallets and almost 860 individual boxes of telecom equipment, equalling nearly 44 tonnes, arrived via sea freight from Shanghai at the Jebel Ali Port in Dubai, on their way to the final destination in Mauritania. The customer's tight deadline required the team to organise an exclusive air cargo charter between the UAE and Mauritania to prioritise the shipment and provide dedicated capacity. The goods had to be re-packed to fit the ULD (Unit Load Devices), the containers used to load freight on the aircraft. "Rapid delivery and sustainability were the main factors set by Nokia. We knew that our Sea-Air Logistics solution would provide the right balance between saving time and reducing carbon footprint," said Mohammed Rizwan, Air Logistics Sea-Air Product and Sustainability Manager. By combining sea freight and air freight logistics, the carbon footprint was reduced by approximately 25% comparing to an air freight only solution. To put that into perspective, the carbon reduction achieved for Nokia equals twenty gasoline-powered passenger vehicles driven for one year or 1,337 tree seedlings grown for ten years. “Nokia is committed to sustainable practices and delivering value to our customers worldwide. Kuehne+Nagel's Sea-Air logistics solution not only meets Nokia's requirements for this projects - short lead times, reliability, and cost efficiency - but also significantly reduces our carbon footprint,” concluded Claudia Brito, Mobile Networks Global Transportation Operations Leaderat Nokia. #logistics #sustainability
