Twenty-seven of LCIS’s bold IB Diploma students embarked on the trip of a lifetime this June, spearheaded by Expedition Leader and DP head Mr Brooks. Our IB Diploma students Uma, Sofia and Ben are currently representing LCIS at The Village School in Houston, USA for the annual Nord Anglia Education - UNICEF summit with over 100 other students from around the Nord Anglia family of schools. Our Year 3 students recently turned into little scientists and made their own volcanoes; painted them and then carried out an experiment to construct volcanic eruptions. This hands-on activity gave the students a chance to be creative and imaginative while they reexamined knowledge they acquired about volcanoes. They used a fair test but compared results across the class by using different chemical reactions. The experiment was the Exit Point activity for the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) unit "Active Planet".
