Will electric cars no longer need a charging cable? Mobilephones, electric toothbrushes and razors. All of these devices can already be charged wirelessly. With electric cars, however, people are still used to plugging in the charging cable once they arrive at their garage or public charging station. Although wireless charging should have long been part of everyday life for electric cars, the technology is still struggling with challenges. In particular, the efficiency and performance of transmitting electricity without direct contact from the electric car to the charger pose a problem. However, researchers at Oak Ridge National Laboratory have now succeeded in wirelessly charging an electric car with an output of 100 kW and an efficiency of 96 percent. Will autonomous passenger services soon be a reality? This is at least being tested in Hamburg. Starship Technologies delivery robots are already part of the street scene in some cities in Europe and the USA. More than six million deliveries have been successfully made with the small, autonomous vehicle, and expansion into other countries is imminent. However, the company, which was founded in Estonia in 2014, is not yet present in Switzerland. Nevertheless, autonomous delivery vehicles are nothing new here either. Autonomous driving is one of the most exciting and disruptive innovations of our time. 💡 Developments in this area are being driven by cities such as Hamburg and Oslo. For example, the HEAT project, which has been testing the use of autonomous shuttle buses in public transport, has been running in Hamburg since 2019. Oslo has set itself the goal of becoming a car-free city by 2030 and is strongly promoting local public transport, among other things. In the AVENUE project, the city is testing the integration of autonomous vehicles into local public transport. 🚋 In addition to cities, companies are also important players in the field of autonomous driving. Companies such as Holo, Cruise and Waymo are leading the way in this area. While Holo is the leading implementer, integrator and operator of autonomous vehicles in Scandinavia and is also involved in the project in Oslo, Cruise and Waymo in the USA have already received approval to test their vehicles on public roads without safety drivers, which is an important step for the commercialization of autonomous driving technology. Keine Lust im Regen Motorrad zu fahren oder das Auto für Kurzstrecken zu nutzen, um anschliessend keinen Parkplatz zu finden? Was wäre, wenn du flexibel, günstig, nachhaltig und geschützt unterwegs sein kannst? Diese Facts werden dich überraschen: Wusstest du, dass der Microlino ein L7e-CP Fahrzeug ist (vierrädrige Kraftfahrzeuge mit einer Leermasse bis 450 kg) und in der Schweiz mit einem Motorrad-Nummernschild bewegt wird? Übrigens ist die Wechselnummer mit deinem Motorrad somit möglich. Durch die geringen Aussenmasse kann sich der Microlino problemlos durch die Stadt und durch die Agglomeration wuseln und benötigt nur einen Drittel eines Parkfeldes und spart somit einiges an Platz und Kosten ein. Und dank dem geringen Gewicht ist der flotte Stromer auch äusserst sparsam im Verbrauch, denn er benötigt rund 60% weniger Energie für Produktion und Nutzung als ein normales Elektroauto.
