🚍 Advancing Swiss Public Transport with Innovation 🚍 We're thrilled to share that our #AutoDepot Project has been featured in the latest Overview of Research and Innovation in Public Transport report by the Office fédéral des transports OFT . This recognition highlights our efforts toward a more efficient and sustainable future for public transportation in Switzerland. Imagine a world where buses park, recharge, and maintain themselves autonomously, freeing up valuable time for drivers and reducing operational costs. Our vision is becoming a reality, thanks to collaborative efforts. After a pre-study concluded that the project is viable and makes sense, we are now gathering members to build a #consortium to create the first prototype, expected to be ready by 2028. 11 SAAM members supported the initial proof of concept, and discussions are currently active to involve them in this next phase. We had a fantastic time at the Innovate Mobility event, exploring the latest in transportation technology! ✨ Inspiring Keynotes and presentations, featuring insights from Matteo Barale from Tecnocad and PIX Moving, Tommaso G. from NEXT modular vehicles, and Lara Tabet DIC CEng MICE from Arup. We were excited to see the #Dufourdrone with pivoting wings and the impressive #hyperloop demonstrations by EuroTube during the European Hyperloop Week. Have you ever heard of commentary driving?? Commentary driving is used to check whether the cameras and lidar sensors see and transmit everything to the computer that the driver also sees and passes on accordingly. If there are discrepancies, these errors must be documented for the system. This process demands a high level of concentration from the safety driver. Thanks to MOIA for an in-depth look into their operations. This interview highlights the complexity of setting up a service with automated vehicles. Safety has to remain priority number one, which is why safety drivers play a crucial role in the entire setup. Their meticulous training and responsibilities ensure the reliability and safety of autonomous driving systems. We had our General Assembly and an exciting #SAAMDay, making it a day to remember.   General Assembly Highlights:   🎉 Our President #HansWicki took us on a trip down memory lane, celebrating SAAM's journey over the past four years. We've become a key player in the Swiss mobility scene, collaborating with Office fédéral des routes OFROU and federal offices, showcasing our credibility and expertise. 👋 Leadership Transition: We bid a heartfelt farewell to Martin Neubauer, who laid a rock-solid foundation for SAAM. Martin Neubauer chose to resign from his role at SAAM to further advance the topic within CarPostal SA, now that #automatedmobility has gained momentum. He will continue to support SAAM with strategy and business development. We warmly welcome our new CEO, Rémy Chrétien, who’s ready to lead us to new heights. Exciting times ahead!   SAAM Day Highlights: 🔍 Vincent Sabot, CEO of CertX: Gave a talk on the importance of standards in the automated mobility industry and their role in certification. 🤝 Freya Hofmann from ioki & Sharad Kher from Vay shared their collaboration story, integrating teleoperation into their platform services. 🌏 Ricco Kämpfer from P3 offered fascinating insights into the Chinese market, with major companies eyeing Europe—could Switzerland be their gateway? 🤔   It was also the occasion to unveil the first edition of the #SAAMMag to our members, receiving amazing feedbacks!
