Our Strategic Peacebuilding & Dialogue Skills course was a success! Our participants left with the right tools and insights to design and support meaningful dialogue that can prevent or de-escalate violence. They learned: 💡how to strategically design dialogue processes based on conflict analysis and stakeholder engagement; 💡how to prepare, promote, and support dialogue initiatives that are sensitive to the local context and ensure ownership by the communities involved. 🙏 A huge thank you to the course participants and especially to the course lead Omar Metwally, and the experts Franziska Seethaler, Sahar Ammar, Luca Willig! This paper explores the challenges The Gambia faces in its dealing with the Past process established after 22 years of dictatorship. Despite having opened a Truth Commission to address human rights violations, several obstacles, including funding constraints, have hindered the reparations process.💡This paper offers recommendations to overcome such challenges.
