This weeks marks the highlight of the season for the top Tennis Europe Junior Tour players, as the iconic Monte-Carlo Country Club hosts the season-ending Junior Masters for a fourth year. It's quarterfinals day at the MEHRLEBEN - U18 European Junior Championships powered by Finanzfuchsgruppe and you can follow all the action with live streaming at the Tennis Europe website. The event - first held in 1976 - is being held in Oberpullendorf, Austria for the first time. Victory today would guarantee a medal for the players at this J300 ITF World Tennis Tour (Juniors) event, won in the past by future Slam champions including Martina Hingis, Mats Wilander, Conchita Martinez, Barbora Krejcikova and Carlos Moya. The 48th edition of the European 14 & Under Championships is taking place this week in Most, Czechia.   Former winners of this age category have gone on to claim an incredible 87 Grand Slam singles titles over the years. TENNIS EUROPE COMMITS TO 'GREENTENNIS' INITIATIVE The European Tennis Federation will take part in a 3-year Erasmus+ programme - 'Tennis for a Greener Future' - designed to enhance and promote environmental sustainability in the sport. The pioneering initiative will include the implementation of sustainable practices across the tennis ecosystem and the use of innovative tools and technology to measure and reduce the carbon footprint of tennis activities. Tennis Europe Vice-President Cem Tinaz commented, "Our goal is to transform tennis into a leading example of how sports can drive meaningful environmental change." CYPRUS DOMINATES AT ITF/TENNIS EUROPE SMALL STATES CHAMPIONSHIPS The week, the Luxembourg Tennis Federation hosted teams from 9 countries for this unique event, designed to support the best 14 & Under players from Europe’s smallest nations—those with populations of less than 1 million—to earn Junior Tour ranking points, with all expenses covered. The squads also took part in a training camp led by International Tennis Federation Development Officer for Europe, Vitor Cabral. Cypriot players emerged strongly, winning all available titles. 🏆 Europe’s junior team competitions are over for another year. After six weeks of action that saw 270 national teams competing at 28 venues in 10 nations, it’s time to congratulate our champions:   ➡️SLOVAKIA won the Boys 12&U event for the first time, adding the Summer Cups to February’s Winter Cups (indoor) title ➡️UKRAINE won the Girls’ 12&U event for a fourth time, and first since 2015 ➡️SPAIN took the Boys’ 14&U title at home in Valencia ➡️CZECHIA dominated the Girls 14&U competition, and has gone undefeated all year, winning the Winter Cups and adding the ITF World Junior Tennis title last week for good measure ➡️GREAT BRITAIN ended the hosts 3-year reign to take the Girls’ 16&U title in Czechia, trading last year’s silver for gold in 2024 ➡️GERMANY won the Boys 16&U title – which included a qualifying competition held alongside the ATP 500 Hamburg event – a first 16&U title for ten years ➡️SPAIN reached the finals of the both the 18&U girls and boys events, winning the boys title for the first time since 2014 ➡️CZECHIA’S girl' 18&U title was their first win in this age category for 22 years.   Tennis Europe’s flagship junior events continue next month with the European Junior Championships, which will be held over three consecutive weeks in Most (CZE, 14&U), Parma (ITA, 16&U) and Oberpullendorf (AUT, 18&U).

64 national teams took part in last week's European Summer Cups by Dunlop Tennis 12 & Under qualifying competition. Congrats to the 8 teams to have reached the final rounds in Ajaccio (girls) and Dijon (boys) in a fortnight's time. This week, the European junior team championships continue with the 16 and 18 & Under qualifying rounds, due to be held at 14 venues across the region from 31 July-2 August, with the participation of 137 national teams. Draws and schedules will be online from tomorrow evening.

SAVE THE DATE: CYPRUS TO HOST 2024 EUROPEAN COACHES CONFERENCE Leading coaches from Europe's national tennis federations will meet in Ayia Napa, Cyprus from 31st October to 3rd November 2024, for the 46th edition of the European Coaches Conference. Hosted by the Cyprus Tennis Federation for the first time since 1988, the event will feature high level speakers from the coaching world, including Cypriot tennis legend and former ATP Top 10 player Marcos Baghdatis, who will participate in a Q&A session.
