Experiences and lessons learned on mobilizing new public financing sources for public-private partnership (#PPP) infrastructure projects, as debt levels and private infrastructure financing demand rise, were the focus of the fourth and final virtual workshop in the #MCDF PPP “hot topics” series. Co-organized with the Ministry of Finance | Egypt , African Development Bank Group, Asian Development Bank (ADB), Public-Private Infrastructure Advisory Facility – Global Infrastructure Hub, The World Bank, and WAPPP | World Association of PPP Units & Professionals, the workshop looked at mechanisms and approaches for increasing public PPP funding needed to better leverage private financing. #CONNECTTOCHANGE | Yesterday we had the privilege to animate a lively fishbowl conversation titled "Katalysatoren in Public-Private-Philanthropy (PPPP)", during the Swiss Foundations Day in Campus Sursee, Canton Lucerne. PPPPs benefits we discussed in the fishbowl are manyfold: - Do more with less, especially in times of constrained fiscal space - De risk the projects and share responsibility among the PPPP sponsors to make projects bankable - Improve economic inclusion and tap into the diverse and combinatorial talent pool to bolster youth and gender diversity - Boost infra resilience to adapt to climate change We are preparing a little "solution paper" that will be socialized subsequently.
