CEITEC expats invited to Meet the Mayor of Brno City ✨ Brno is home to 400 000 people, 66 000 of which are foreigners. The city strives to provide a nurturing environment for them, especially through the Brno Expat Centre, which helps newcomers with anything from getting a visa to setting up a bank account to travel and entertainment tips 💡 CEITEC - Central European Institute of Technology is proud to employ hundreds of foreigners coming from 45+ countries. Outstanding scientists from both CEITEC Masaryk University and CEITEC Vysoké učení technické v Brně were invited to a traditional ceremony organized by the City of Brno to Meet the Mayor 👩🔬👨🔬 💬 “It was really good to see how interested the city was in welcoming us and how willing they were to listen to our feedback on the city, not to mention the opportunity to network with other local expats,” said Gabriel Soares Guerra from CEITEC. 📷 Photos: Fatma Merve Yurtsever, Jiří Lubojacký, courtesy of Brno Expat Centre Magistrát města Brna in.brno.cz #CEITECScience #Brno #Expats #brnoregion

100 years since the birth of Armin Delong, the father of Czechoslovak electron microscopy 🔬 Armin's life was closely linked to Brno University of Technology. Read about his legacy ⬇️ https://lnkd.in/eDkmycHr Brnoregion Microscopy CEITEC Nano Research Infrastructure
🔬 Brno je na světové špičce elektronové mikroskopie. Těží především z dědictví vědce, fyzika a vysokoškolského pedagoga Armina Delonga. #vut #historie #mikroskopie #elektronovamikroskopie #brnoregion

CEITEC scientists to develop 3D-printed in vitro full-thickness skin model 🚀 CEITEC - Central European Institute of Technology Brno University of Technology (Vysoké učení technické v Brně) scientists have launched the ACCURE project (“Austrian-Czech Union for Regenerative Medicine for Acute and Chronic Wounds”), an ambitious initiative under the Interreg Austria-Czech Republic programme for institutional cooperation. This cutting-edge project aims to strengthen cross-border cooperation by developing a novel 3D-printed in vitro full-thickness skin model for drug and therapeutic testing 🩺 “We discussed the high benefits of such a skin model with our Austrian colleagues. We know that it will accelerate the development and deployment of new drugs, including testing of their safety and efficacy, and thus help many patients. Support from the regional Interreg program is crucial for establishing this “neighbourly” cooperation,” commented the project’s principal investigator, Lucy Vojtova from CEITEC BUT 🤝 Read more about the project in our newest article ⬇️ https://lnkd.in/eWp5fvES #CEITECScience Pavel Janal #3DPrinting #RegenerativeMedicine #InVitroModels #CrossBorderCollaboration #brnoregion #CzechRepublic
