💥 Introducing another of our research stations ~ HHG! ➡️ High Harmonic Generation Beamline (HHG) is a Multipurpose station for atomic, molecular, and optical science and coherent diffraction imaging (MAC) and for HHG in gases and solids. It is a source of coherent vacuum and extreme ultraviolet (VUV/XUV) laser pulses. 🇺🇸💥 A significant visit from the USA to ELI! ➡️ #ELIBeamlines was honored to welcome Dr. Andrew Greenwood, International Program Officer at the Air Force Office of Scientific Research (AFOSR). His visit represents an important step forward in the joint research between ELI and the USA, focused on generating relativistic plasmas and magnetic fields. ➡️ This groundbreaking research (project no. FA8655-25-1-7463) will help us understand the laser’s interaction with the target at relativistic intensities, which is crucial for the development of laser particle acceleration and the study of astrophysical phenomena such as plasma jets, solar flares, and gamma-ray bursts. Dr. Greenwood’s visit confirms the essential role of international collaboration in the advancement of science. We look forward to further joint discoveries! 🚀

💥 We will soon reopen the doors to the world of cutting-edge research at #ELI Beamlines!   Until then, we will introduce you to all 13 user research stations pushing the boundaries of science and technology in a new series of posts. The first of them is station called ALFA.   ➡️ Allegra Laser For Acceleration (ALFA) is one of the ELI Beamlines user research stations, focused on developing and applying advanced plasma accelerators. Thanks to an extremely intense laser pulse, it generates high-energy electron beams of up to 50 MeV.
