☀️ The summer sun can take a toll on our skin, making it even more important to get our moles examined. Let's not underestimate the importance of regular mole check-ups and post-summer examinations, as they can help detect #melanoma, the most serious form of #skincancer. Did you know that through regular check-ups and early intervention, patients have up to a 95% chance of recovery? 🩺 💡 The #ABCDE rule can be a helpful way to monitor changes in moles and identify potential warning signs of melanoma: 🔹 Asymmetry,  🔹 Border irregularity, 🔹 Color variation,  🔹 Diameter greater than 6mm, and 🔹 Evolution over time. Don’t forget to inform your doctor about any changes, new spots on the skin, or growths that look different from the rest of your mole. By monitoring changes in your moles and identifying potential warning signs of melanoma, you can play an active role in early detection.

My IT rotation experience in Greece was a transformative journey, offering personal and professional growth as I immersed myself in a new work culture at MSD Greece. Although familiar with Greek culture, this was a unique opportunity to witness how IT projects support business operations. The differences between global and local IT approaches were eye-opening, highlighting the importance of adaptability and collaboration. I had the privilege of observing MSD Greece's impactful role, particularly in their efforts to combat cancer, which further deepened my appreciation for the intersection of IT and business in making a difference. During my time with the analytics team, I engaged closely with CRM data that captured interactions with healthcare professionals (HCPs). This hands-on experience allowed me to develop Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and enhance my Qlik development skills. I discovered the critical importance of data accuracy and the challenges faced by Qlik developers, which gave me valuable insights to apply in my future work. The team's mentorship was instrumental in helping me navigate the complexities of data governance, ultimately leading to the successful creation of KPIs that informed business decisions. Reflecting on this experience, I am deeply grateful to the MSD Greece team for their warm welcome and support. This rotation not only enhanced my technical abilities but also reinforced the significance of IT in driving business success. The lessons learned and the relationships built during this time will have a lasting impact on my career, inspiring me to continue striving for excellence in all my future endeavors. 🌈 A Huge Success! 🌈 The 2024 Prague Pride week has been a true celebration of diversity, inclusion, and support for our LGBTQ+ colleagues. It was a week filled with various meaningful activities, culminating in the much-anticipated Prague Pride Parade. It was heartwarming to see so many of you proudly marching and standing side by side with our LGBTQ+ community, led by our esteemed leaders Beata Borer and Mehrdad Doustdar, among others. The success of the Pride Parade wouldn't have been possible without each and every one of you who joined us and showed unwavering support. Special thanks to our Rainbow Alliance EBRG co-leads Berkan Mansur YILDIRAN and Michaela Švarcová (she/her), and Pride Coordinator Savanah Catalina for their exceptional organization. Be proud. Working at MSD's Prague offices during the summer is a true pleasure. We have two buildings along the Vltava river bank, both offering inviting spaces to work or take a break outdoors. On the Riverview rooftop terrace, employees and visitors can enjoy a splendid view of Vyšehrad or relax among blooming flowers in comfortable, modern seating. There’s even an opportunity to plant herbs, including salvia, which is given as a welcome gift during onboarding to the MSD team. In the Five building, employees can visit the Five Bytes Café, which also features an outdoor space next to the newly reconstructed chimney, perfect for enjoying snacks and drinks or hosting team grill sessions. The rooftop terrace in Five is equipped with stylish seating, shading tents, and offers a beautiful view of Prague Castle.

Working long hours at a desk often causes office-related back pain. To minimize this risk, we consider ergonomic requirements when choosing office equipment and support compensatory activities. 'To alleviate and prevent office-related back pain, it is important to practice good posture, take regular breaks, exercise, strengthen core muscles, and use proper lifting techniques,' explains Martina Kochanovskov from the MSD Human Health division, who developed practical exercises and tips shared through an MSD PHYSIO session. These exercises are designed to be easily incorporated into the daily routine. Raising awareness and sharing how-tos are just part of the journey, so we also created a shared calendar and invite employees to join coached courses such as Chair Yoga, Desk Meditation, Total Body Strength building, and more. We are thrilled to announce that Kranthi Venkataswamy, one of the leads of the Cricket pillar in the All about you Live Earn Grow team, has recently won the European cricket series!  Organized by the European Cricket Network, this tournament is renowned as the most competitive and fast-paced club cricket tournament in the Czech Republic. The series concluded on June 29th with an intense and thrilling final. Kranthi played a crucial role in his club's success, ultimately lifting the coveted trophy.  Congratulations to Kranthi on this remarkable achievement in the European cricket series! We wish him continued success in his future endeavors and look forward to witnessing more of his exceptional performances in the world of cricket.
