Our aim is to harmonize elegant design and intelligent functions.     The modern kitchen has established itself as the heart of the home. Therefore, it has to be multifunctional and flexible.      Good design takes up this idea and focuses on the intuitive use of appliances that make everyday life easier and more enjoyable for our consumers.    For example, we have implemented this approach in the new iQ700 oven generation from Siemens. It impresses with its timeless, elegant design and smart functions. What a great start at the IFA Kick-off 2024 at Bikini Berlin! 🎉 Over the course of two days, we presented our pioneering technologies and visions together with leading innovators and partners. On Friday, Stefanie Lipps, Managing Director of Home Connect, gave an inspiring talk about the future of the smart home. Having to hide who you are can be extremely exhausting. That is why #TeamBSH fosters a culture that celebrates diversity, equity, and inclusion. By doing this, we create a safe work environment, where every individual can be their true selves and thrive. During our Diversity Days, Víctor Lorenzo and FRANCK OLIVES, core members of our LGBTQ+ employee network "Colors of BSH", hosted the session "Being Me at Work." Their goal was to raise awareness about the challenges faced by the LGBTQ+ community and cultivate allyship and openness among colleagues. 🌈 They shared actions that individuals can take to embrace their authentic selves at the workplace, such as coming out to trusted colleagues or mentioning their partner when discussing their leisure. Allies are crucial in supporting LGBTQ+ individuals, standing in solidarity with them. Being an ally is an ongoing process of learning, challenging biases, and taking action. Ralf Grobleben, Head of Design at Neff Home Appliances, provides exciting insights:     “Homes become smaller, and kitchens become more integrated with people’s living spaces. Therefore, the design idea of Neff focuses on flexibility to offer an individual experience at home. With our Flex Design system we enable customers to shape their kitchen according to their wishes through flexible accents.    In most kitchens it is not easy to change the design or colour of your appliance, but we’ve made this possible with the NEFF Flex Design accents which are currently available in four elegant colours.    We aim to create designs for customers who enjoy cooking at home and are interested in product individuality and flexibility, while having fun in the kitchen. Therefore, we try to round up our design ideas with tactile experiences like the Twist Pad Flex® to make controlling your home appliances more fun.    The Twist Pad Flex® offers individuality at technology level and adapts to user preferences. As part of BSH’s Diversity Days, our Global Graduates (GGs) hosted a session on their workplace experiences with cultural diversity. Being part of the international trainee program, this close-knit team has special insights into the cultural kaleidoscope 🤹 that is BSH. Not only do the 13 GGs represent 13 different nationalities, they are also working across several BSH locations – and socialize together too! Collaborating with #TeamBSH colleagues from around the world has significantly broadened their perspectives and increased their sensitivity to cultural differences. This has had a strong impact on their communication skills, making them more aware of direct and indirect communication styles, as well as non-verbal cues. They have also noticed differences in feedback culture, perceptions of time, or how people build trust. Experiencing this cultural diversity firsthand encouraged them to reflect on their own values and behaviors, fostering personal growth. Their top advice to everyone is: BE OPEN, treat others with respect and empathy. In the interactive session, the participants were encouraged to reflect on their own cultural behaviors, creating a lively exchange. Gathering around the table to try local flavors is one way the GGs celebrate their cultural heritages. 🥘🍜 What aspects of your culture do you like to share?
