#EASA took part in the International Civil Aviation Organization Asia Pacific conference of Director Generals (DGCA59) last week, sharing papers on #Safety Promotion, #Sustainability, #Cybersecurity and #AI. These topics sparked interest from the 35 States and 10 international organisations attending the event. We also held 14 side meetings to support #EU interests, build relationships, and answer questions from our stakeholders. In addition to flying the European flag, this reinforces EASA’s collaborative approach to global aviation safety and sustainability. Maria N. Day 2 of the Innovative Air Mobility (#IAM) Implementation Forum at #EASA HQ in Cologne! As we near the conclusion of this impactful event, participants have been deeply engaged in workshops and discussions focused on the Unmanned Aircraft Systems (#UAS) domain. Here are some highlights: 💡 Collaboration is Key: continuation dialogue between EASA, industry stakeholders and NAAs is essential. Key main ideas were presented during the #IAMHub functionalities. 💡 #Innovative and #Safety: balancing technological advancements with stringent safety standards remains a top priority. The goals of the workshops were to present the UAS operations in different environments (BVLOS, VLL operations, near airports) 💡 Future Directions: emphasis on highly automated UAS operations and #Uspace challenges. Stay tuned for more updates and insights from the IAM Implementation Forum! We will be posting all recordings of this event in the coming weeks! A big thank you to the Daedalean AI team for their warm hospitality and transparency during our recent audit. It is always a pleasure working with such a dedicated and professional team and we look forward to the next steps in this pioneering project!
This month, we once again welcomed a delegation from EASA - European Union Aviation Safety Agency for the next Stage of Involvement (SOI) audit, marking a key milestone in the certification journey of our PilotEye. Alerting to traffic that is cooperative or non-cooperative (such as birds and drones), PilotEye is a visual awareness system set to become the first certified application in civil #aviation to use machine learning and computer vision. Over the span of three days, the delegation collaborated with Daedalean’s experts from the Safety, Systems, Software/Hardware, #MachineLearning, Data, and Management teams. They participated in technical briefings and engaged in discussions with our team to evaluate the progress of our product development. We greatly value the feedback offered and commitment shown by the #EASA team during its visit. The audit represents a critical achievement on the road to product certification, and we remain fully dedicated to maintaining the highest quality standards in our development processes. #LearningAssurance #Aerospace #SOIaudit
