Have you ever been asked by an airline if you wanted to volunteer to take part in a study on “passenger weight”? Aircraft are certified against maximum take-off mass, which includes the mass of the aircraft itself plus passengers, luggage, fuel and other load items. It would be rather challenging to weigh all passengers, crew and hand luggage before every single flight, therefore standard averages are used for the calculations and that’s why such studies on passenger weight are conducted. Read the latest #EASALight article to learn more on the impact of weight on air operations 👉 https://lnkd.in/eFj_5ukJ

#EASA’s SAFE360 Conference is a great place to share information on how to mitigate the most important #safety risks facing the industry. SAFE brings together people from all the different stakeholders that ensure the safety of Commercial Aeroplane operations including airlines, airports, ANSPs, ground handlers, maintenance and authorities. The event will start by exploring the current safety landscape and discuss strategies to cope with workforce challenges. Day 1 will finish on the topic of integrated risk management. Day 2 will dive into the operational topics with panels and presentation on the management of repetitive defects, GNSS outages and alterations and runway safety. We will finish by talking about the future of occurrence reporting and by providing an update on the EASA #Data4Safety project. Come and be part of the conversation! Drones provide unique aerial perspectives on many situations. There are increasing reports of people flying #drones illegally at major events such as sporting events, music festivals, cultural gatherings and even state occasions. These violations have the potential to cause significant safety risks for people on the ground and other aviation operating in the area. With the upcoming #Olympic Games in Paris 🏅 and a large number of different #sports being played at venues across this part of France, EASA would like to remind you that it is important that you don’t fly your drone near any major public event. Find out more about drone safety during the Olympics Paris 2024 and at other major events on the EASA website: https://lnkd.in/e67zWbtG
