Insightful Talk Recap 👇 Yesterday, the 2024 #EinsteinFoundationAward winners shared exciting insights on improving the scientific publication record through error detection, post-publication peer review & image guidelines. 🔬 "Science without integrity checks is like sports without doping control" says Elisabeth Bik, image forensics expert. She investigates errors in biomedical papers and discusses the high cost of scientific misconduct, as well as the increasing threats posed by AI-driven fraud and paper mills in academia. 🌐 Brandon Stell is the co-founder of The PubPeer Foundation, a widely used online platform for post publication review and legitimate discussion of published scientific data. He highlights the need for continuous quality control to catch errors and fraud, strengthening the scientific knowledge base. "As PubPeer grows, so does the pressure on authors to fix mistakes and address feedback. Thanks to the #EinsteinFoundationAward, the monthly PubPeer Comment Award recognizes those who spot errors and offer valuable critiques!” he stated. Ready to get recognized?
