Global leading tire company Hankook Tire & Technology (Hankook Tire) is equipping the new Mercedes-AMG GT Coupé with the UUHP (Ultra Ultra High Performance) tire Ventus S1 evo Z ex works.   Hankook Tire made specific modifications to improve tire and vehicle performance. One of the special features of the Ventus S1 evo Z on the Mercedes-AMG GT Coupé is the extra-wide tread. Together with a specifically modified tire pattern, this delivers first-class stability.   The aramid material prevents unwanted expansion of the tire due to the centrifugal forces at high speed – extremely important in a vehicle with a top speed of over 196 mph (about 315.43 km/h).   The tread mixture is also new, with more silica for better grip and rigidity in all kinds of weather. The modified material mixture means that the tread now interlocks even more effectively with the road surface for maximum braking performance.   Along with the extreme performance requirements, the short development time also posed a challenge for the Hankook team. Instead of the usual two years, the developers had just eight months, which also included intensive dry handling tests on the 12.665-mile (about 20.38 km) Nürburgring North loop, one of the toughest racecourses in the world with numerous corners and more than 300 meters of elevation change.   The Ventus S1 evo Z and the Mercedes-AMG GT Coupé reached a top speed of 190 mph (about 305.77 km/h) and an average speed of around 93 mph (about 150 km/h) on the “Green Hell”. Global leading tire company Hankook tire & Technology (Hankook tire) unveiled a new campaign brand film about the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, an electric car racing competition hosted by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA), on July 17. The brand film showcases the excellent performance and premium brand image of ‘iON' electric racing tires, exclusively supplied by Hankook Tire for Formula E. Specifically, it highlights that all teams participating in Formula E, including high-performance supercar brands such as McLaren, Maserati, and Porsche are equipped with the Hankook iON Race in Formula E competitions. The primary segment of the video shows GEN3 machines, the fastest Formula E race cars with capacity to reach a maximum speed of 320km/h, fitted with Hankook Tire’s iON Race. The film highlights the extraordinary driving performance achieved through the perfect harmony of global high-performance supercars and advanced electric racing tires. Additionally, the film showcases the logos of high-performance supercar brands such as McLaren, Maserati, and Porsche alongside the iON logo on the tires. With a cohesive visual narrative, it emphasises iON as a leading premium brand in the global electric vehicle tire market. The new brand film is available via Hankook Tire's official website, social media channels, YouTube, television ads and various other platforms. Meanwhile, Hankook Tire continues to lead the electric vehicle tire market. Analyse: Zwei Drittel aller E-Autofahrer:innen denken über spezielle E-Autoreifen nach. 🤝 Werbung 👥 Eine Umfrage von Connect and Drive unter mehreren hundert E-Autofahrer:innen zeigt, dass 66,3 Prozent der Befragten über spezielle Reifen für ihre E-Autos nachdenken. 😮 Interessanterweise haben 60,6 Prozent derjenigen, die darüber nachdachten, bereits Erfahrungen mit speziellen Elektroauto-Reifen und EV-ready-Reifen gesammelt. Klaus Krause, Vizepräsident und Leiter des European Technical Centers von Hankook Tire, erklärte gegenüber EAN, dass spezielle EV-Reifen durchaus Sinn machen. Er betonte, dass diese die Reichweite um 40 bis 50 Kilometer steigern können. 🛞 Ein weiteres Thema ist die begrenzte Auswahl bei der Erstausrüstung der Pkw mit Reifen durch die OEMs, was einige Fahrer:innen dazu veranlasst, keine speziellen E-Autoreifen zu verwenden. 📈 Hier zeigt sich jedoch, dass sich der Markt weitet und das Angebot an E-Autoreifen wächst. Der erste EV-Reifen mit ISCC PLUS-Zertifizierung kommt von Hankook und verhilft einem ebenso bekannten wie sportlichen Elektroauto zu optimaler Straßenlage: dem Porsche Taycan.
