📢 This week, LichtBlick SE published the #Prosumer Report 2024 together with EUPD Research! 💡 Here are the most important insights in a nutshell: ☀ Around one million new #solar systems were installed on German detached and semi-detached houses in 2023. Our Prosumer Index thus increases by 45%. That's a new record! 🧠 Smart solutions for the home are booming: the share of #storage and #energy management systems has doubled year-on-year. 💶 Prosumer homes save up to EUR 66,000 over 20 years on #electricity, #heat and #mobility compared to fossil-fuel homes. 🤕 Challenge remains the sluggish #SmartMeter expansion, which is still a long way from a nationwide rollout... However, the report once again impressively demonstrates the potential of prosumers for the energy transition in Germany: 81 billion kilowatt hours ⚡ Without smart meters, there will be no #Flexumer with dynamic electricity tariffs. 💸 The KfW 442 subsidy program with a size of €300m caused KfW's servers to collapse within a short period of time. Just as quickly, the funding was exhausted and the pot was empty. 💸 💡 The basic idea was to promote photovoltaic systems (PV), home batteries (BAT) and electric vehicles (EV) systems for households that decided to become prosumers. Assuming an average investment of €20,000, the subsidy results in 15,000 complete systems supported. From the consumer's perspective, what occurred here raises the question: ❓Can prosumers anticipate realizing the full benefits of optimization❓ 📜 ✍ The companies LichtBlick SE, Octopus Energy, sonnen GmbH, Enpal and 1KOMMA5° have already asked in an open letter to Volker Wissing's ministry to make the full optimization potential available to prosumers. ❌ Unfortunately, these 15,000 prosumers are now prohibited from having their home storage loaded from the central power grid. Consequently, this significant potential for savings remains untapped, despite objections and efforts to overturn this restriction. 👉 To better grasp the magnitude of this untapped potential, let's put some numbers to it: 💸 #Prosumers equipped with PV, BAT and EV are loosing 11% annualy of their saving potential. At first glance, this may not seem staggering, but when we delve deeper into the cumulated Prosumer Potential of 15,000 systems, we're looking at yearly costs of €600,000. The presence of additional components, such as a heat pump, only compounds these costs. 💸 📉 Hence, ison GmbH adjusted the optimization for non-battery customers based on the KfW provisions with a downside effect of 11%. - We decided to wait until the right moment to remind us of the relevance of well-drafted subsidy guidelines. It is also essential to draw attention to prevent the emerge of a market solely based on financial subsidies. The interest of potential #Flexumers should be kept up without relying on incentives. 🤝 Let's make the remaining 200m for the second funding phase in 2024 better! 🎭 We wish a great carneval season! 🎭 #ison #energy #energymanagement #kfw #subsidy
