"First and foremost, it’s the people! I’ve had the privilege of working here for over 25 years, and our warm, welcoming, and supportive colleagues have always been our greatest asset. I also love being involved in strategic decisions, and it brings me immense joy when a new report, improved SAP process, or tool makes life easier for others. Seeing the positive impact of our efforts is incredibly rewarding!" 🏞️ Favourite Outdoor Activity? "I’m passionate about running! I run 3-4 times a week, usually 8k, with a challenging 100m height difference. "One of my wildest adventures was as a kid, growing up in a family of hunters. I vividly remember joining my parents on a hunt during autumn, standing in a forest lane as about 60 to 80 big stags ran just an arm's length away.     Meet Melanie Kuntnawitz - Director of Sustainability & Social Compliance 🌍 Sustainability is at the heart of everything we do at Jack Wolfskin, and Melanie Kuntnawitz leads the charge. In her role as Director of Sustainability & Social Compliance, Melanie coordinates all sustainability-related topics, working across departments to make a real difference for the people working in our supply chain. 🌿 What do you love most about your role? "I have an amazing team, and I’m incredibly grateful to work with so many colleagues across all departments who genuinely care about sustainability, making my job much easier. Our global sustainability team works hard to support our supply chain partners in continuously improving working conditions in their facilities. This can only be achieved through a commitment to high sustainability standards across the entire supply chain. And it’s only possible by working with great people—not just at Jack Wolfskin, but also with our Tier 1 (assembly stage) and Tier 2 (material manufacturing stage) supply chain partners." 🌿Favourite Outdoor Activity? "I love multi-day hiking tours in the Alps, spending nights in small huts or in my tent. When I hike, I focus only on the next step and the surrounding nature, allowing the stress of everyday life to quickly fade away and helping me to be fully present in the moment." 🌿Wildest Adventure? "A few years ago, I went hiking with my sister and her dog on one of the Dolomite high-altitude trails. Because of the dog, we couldn’t stay in huts, so we traveled with our EXOLIGHT II tent. Each of us (including the dog) carried a rucksack with the essentials. We camped in some of the most beautiful places you can imagine, but one night was especially memorable when a bad thunderstorm hit us, and we didn’t sleep at all. Luckily, we had learned how to handle such situations!" 🌿Favourite Jack Wolfskin Product? "I love my EXOLIGHT II tent. It can be set up and taken down in just a few minutes, it’s small, lightweight, and super cozy. I’ve had many great moments in and around this tent."

    We're thrilled to announce the launch of the BIPOC Polar Training Academy with Eric Larsen 🤩   The Polar Training Academy offers a fantastic opportunity: an all-expense-paid scholarship to a polar training course with Eric Larsen in northern Minnesota for six BIPOC individuals. The program teaches valuable skills and techniques that will help all participants to travel comfortably, safely and efficiently in cold and snow.   💪 We're proud to be part of Eric's initiative, extending our support by covering essential gear and equipment. Our goal is to ensure all participants can fully focus on a discovery of a lifetime.   ❄️ Eric Larsen shared, "This course aims to train the next generation of polar adventurers and expedition guides, breaking down barriers for participation. Additionally, the scholarship honors the rich history of African Americans in polar exploration, highlighting Matthew Henson's crucial role in Robert Peary's North Pole expedition attempts in the early 1900s."   The first course just finished and was a great success.
