Researchers at our Bio Pilot Plant study microorganisms in their native context, as co-cultures living together. They aim to find novel bioactive compounds which are vital for the treatment of resistant pathogens. Yet, challenges persist in cultivating stable co-cultures under laboratory conditions. The Bio Pilot Plant pioneers multiscale cultivation systems to bridge the gap between basic research and real-world applications. Crucially, our quest for stable co-cultures demands innovative measurement technologies. Therefore, we’re proud of our advanced #CoKuPro equipment infrastructure, including: ➡️ Next-Generation Shaking Incubators: Tailored for seamless integration with existing cultivation systems, these state-of-the-art incubators facilitate real-time monitoring of microbial growth. ➡️ 2D Fluorescence Spectrometers: These imaging spectrometers facilitate our ability to track the formation of key substances within co-cultures and offer great insights into microbial interactions. Thus, they accelerate the discovery of potent bioactive agents.
