  • AC Battery for Electric Vehicles ⚡🚗 As part of a feasibility study, Porsche Engineering has developed an innovative concept for electric vehicles: an AC battery that integrates multiple functions into a single component. This AC battery system combines the battery management system, pulse inverter, and on-board charger into one unit—offering numerous advantages. 👉The alternating current battery system can be easily scaled to various drivetrain variants. 👉 The concept also improves safety: In the event of a defect, an individual battery module can be bypassed, allowing the vehicle to continue driving to the nearest workshop with reduced power. 👉 Additionally, fast charging benefits from the modular structure, which allows for direct, pulsed charging. 📖 Discover more about the future of electric vehicle technology in the latest Porsche Engineering Magazine! https://lnkd.in/eWwtfeT8 Daniel Simon #PorscheEngineering#PorscheEngineeringMagazine #ACBattery

Beyond the Turing Test 💡 In our latest magazine feature in the Trends & Technology section, Ray Kurzweil looks into the future of technology:  AI is advancing at an astonishing pace, and recent developments prove it. In June 2024, GPT-4 became the first AI model to pass the famous Turing Test—54% of participants mistook it for a real human. While some researchers see this as a step closer to the singularity, others warn of the potential risks. As early as March 2023, more than 1,000 experts from tech and research fields called for a six-month moratorium on AI development to establish new safety standards. 📖 Learn more about the rapid evolution of artificial intelligence in the latest Porsche Engineering Magazine! https://lnkd.in/eqqZT5cm #PorscheEngineering #ArtificialIntelligence #FutureOfMobility #AI

  • The Fusion of Computer and Human 🤖✨ In our latest magazine feature in the Trends & Technology section, futurist Ray Kurzweil looks into the future of technology, predicting that computers will soon reach human-level intelligence. After that, they could merge with humans to form an immortal super-intelligence. In his new book “The Singularity Is Nearer”, Kurzweil outlines the concept of technological singularity—the moment when artificial intelligence surpasses human intelligence and begins to evolve on its own. But he goes even further: Kurzweil envisions a future where we expand our brains with virtual neurons in the cloud, merging with AI and enhancing ourselves with computing power millions of times greater than our biological origins. While some celebrate this vision, others urge caution. 📖 Dive deeper into this future scenario in the latest Porsche Engineering Magazine! https://lnkd.in/eqqZT5cm #PorscheEngineering #ArtificialIntelligence #FutureOfMobility #AI

  • BOGY Week 2025 at Porsche Engineering 🚀 Five days filled with new experiences, interactive sessions, and exciting insights into technology – this year, we once again had the pleasure of welcoming motivated BOGY (Berufsorientierung an Gymnasien = career orientation program for high school students) interns to Porsche Engineering. During the week, the students explored various departments – from virtual testing environments and live demonstrations of charging technology to hands-on sessions where they could get creative. A special highlight was the LEGO activity, where our participants playfully learned about the V-Model of software development, using LEGO bricks to visualize complex processes. Many thanks to all colleagues who actively supported the BOGY week! 🚗💡 #PorscheEngineering #BOGY

  • AI in the Field of Passive Safety at Porsche Engineering 🧠📊 A major advancement in passive safety system development lies in the use of artificial intelligence (AI) both in the upstream selection of data for calculation and for efficient processing of simulation data in post-processing. Modern simulation tools calculate crashes with an extremely high level of detail, generating vast amounts of data. This is where Explainable AI (XAI) comes into play. XAI structures simulation results in an understandable way, highlights key influencing factors, and supports engineers in interpreting complex datasets—making safety development more efficient and insightful. 📖 Learn more about taking crash simulations to the next level in the Porsche Engineering Magazine!  https://lnkd.in/dpw45CGv Michael Di Roberto Stefan Kronwitter Janis Mathieu Joachim Schaper #PorscheEngineering #PorscheEngineeringMagazine #safety #simulation
