    We're excited to announce that we have just become a member of the Smart Freight Centre (SFC) network. 🚚 Transport represents the largest share of Zalando’s Logistics emissions. Decarbonising the way we ship our goods is a huge industry challenge and requires collaboration and innovation across all parts of the value chain. To reach our Net-Zero ambition, we need to continuously monitor the development of technologies and market trends in logistics decarbonisation. Therefore, we decided to join the SFC to address these challenges together with our entire industry. It's a globally renowned organisation dedicated to advancing more sustainable freight transportation and logistics.     How do we empower other brands and retailers while making progress on our own journey towards a more sustainable business? The Fashion ReModel is one of the answers. We recently joined the project, led by the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, to share knowledge with other major players in the fashion industry about circular business models and how to scale them. "For years, circularity has been one of the pillars of our environmental sustainability strategy, and one of the most important lessons we have learned on our journey is that no one can do it alone. It takes an ecosystem of brands, infrastructure, legislation, and investments to drive an industry-wide transformation,” shares Pascal Brun, Zalando’s VP of Sustainability and D&I.     Shine Your Light at Zlatni Rat. We celebrated the vibrant Croatian summer with a pop-up showroom at Zlatni Rat beach. In early August, thousands of visitors explored Zalando's wide collection, received personalised advice from renowned stylist Barbara Repe, and had the chance to win special prizes. All this took place amidst the stunning surroundings of Brac. Visitors of the pop-up explored a wide selection of items that reflected the vibrant hues of summer on the Croatian coast. The collection was inspired by three themes that perfectly captured the essence of Summer 2024 trends, embracing soothing tones of "apricot crush," the colour of the year, romantic gelato pastels, creating an airy and fresh vibe, and bold hues like cyber lime, radiant red, and cobalt blue—everything needed to shine under the Adriatic sun. The pop-up was accompanied by the slogan “Shine Your Light,” inviting visitors to celebrate individuality through unique styles. It's part of our strategy to provide highly relevant assortment & content with localised convenience.     We’re constantly experimenting to find better ways to connect our customers, brands, and partners. When those experiments work, we celebrate. When they fail, we learn the lessons. It’s part of the Zalando culture. But we know that for lots of people, failure feels like a big deal. So how do you become a pro at 'failing forward'? Here are our top tips. 1. Break it down Being good at failing doesn’t mean taking unnecessary risks. If you’ve got a bold idea, break it down into smaller chunks, so that if you fail, you fail early and move on. 2. Remember the re-do At school, lots of us learn that instant success is the only acceptable result. But the joy of being an adult is that there’s always the re-do. If a project goes wrong, try it from a different angle. If this week’s presentation is a disaster, there’s always next week. Take the long view. 3. Give yourself points for being brave If your only measure of career success is perfection, you’ll probably take a pretty safe (and boring!) path. Give yourself points for being creative and bold. 4. Understand the consequences What would really happen if a project failed? What would your manager actually do if your big idea turned into a big mess? Where are the boundaries? Talk to your team leader to make sure your fears are based on reality. 5. Give yourself permission Failing doesn’t make you a failure. It makes you somebody who is brave enough to try. And that’s the kind of person we love! Put failure into perspective by allowing it into your career as part of your growth.
