Imagine a workplace built on agility, data-driven decisions, and empowered action without layers of approval. Sounds like the future of work? That’s exactly what we do at zeroG. We have regularly been holding Dispatch sessions to help our team navigate our unique collaboration model. We’ve reimagined hierarchy. Instead of rigid top-down structures, we use a dynamic model where "Circles" are created based on needs and goals. Everyone at zeroG takes ownership of their role and has the autonomy to act quickly, empowered by data and a deep understanding of our customers. We use consent-based decision-making, where decisions move forward unless there’s a valid, fact-based objection. This keeps us efficient and proactive, making it easier to act with confidence. Autonomy and data-driven decisions drive our success. It’s a truly collaborative, self-managed environment that shapes the future of work today. #OrganizationalStructure #WorkplaceCulture #SelfManagement #DataDrivenDecisions #zeroG #LifeatzeroG
Our Principal Data Scientist, Dr. Alexander Motzek, took the stage at the 13th Lufthansa Group ChatGPT online event, where he discussed recent innovations at the Lufthansa Group and at zeroG, with highlights from our Hackathon with Eurowings and Eurowings Digital as well as various ongoing AI-powered projects across the group. There were many key takeaways from the event. The “Double Revolution” in AI. Alex highlighted how both traditional machine learning and generative AI (LLMs like GPT-4) are driving transformative change in the aviation industry. Traditional machine learning excels in areas like cost reduction, customer retention, and operational efficiency. Meanwhile, generative AI is reshaping how complex tasks are managed, automating processes that were once time-intensive and resource-heavy. Alex also emphasized how generative AI is revolutionizing the daily workflows of data scientists and machine learning engineers. Where previously, painstakingly labeled datasets and weeks of training custom neural networks were required, today, a single well-crafted prompt can achieve comparable levels of accuracy. As an example, Alex discussed our award-winning Tray Tracker solution with Lufthansa Group, which recently earned the Innovator Award 2024 in the AI Trailblazer category. This solution leverages generative AI to tackle in-flight food waste, showcasing its potential to drive both operational efficiency and sustainability in aviation. Hackathon Insights. Our hackathon with Eurowings was a key example where AI was used to predict bag-drop behaviors and develop no-show forecasts, contributing to improved operational flows and customer satisfaction. These projects not only showcased the power of AI to predict and optimize but also highlighted the growing importance of data-driven decision-making in aviation. Enhancing Customer Service with AI. From AI-powered chatbots like George, developed for the European Flight Academy at Lufthansa Aviation Training Group to assist with flight training inquiries, to AI systems like Celine, designed for Lufthansa City Airlines to help staff navigate work-related data, Alex highlighted how Generative AI is transforming both customer and employee experiences across the Lufthansa Group. Looking ahead, it is emphasized that while Generative AI is transforming the way data scientists and businesses solve problems, the foundational role of traditional machine learning methods remains critical, also highlighting the importance of collaboration across departments within the Lufthansa Group to unlock even more potential from these AI-driven innovations. Thank you, Dr. Alexander Motzek for this insightful session and to everyone who joined! #GenerativeAI #MachineLearning #DataScience #Innovation #zeroG #LifeatzeroG
We recently attended the Zukunftswerkstatt Summit, organized by the Lufthansa Group in Lufthansa Seeheim. The event showcased how innovation is driving transformation in ground operations, with a spotlight on the role of digitalization, AI, and robotics in shaping the future. The summit brought together professionals from various airports, vendors, and researchers, fostering an environment of collaboration and knowledge exchange. Among many interesting talks, one of the standout moments was a discussion on how KWS Group leveraged cutting-edge technology to significantly improve and accelerate seed research and development, a fascinating example of innovation beyond aviation! Our colleagues Christian Ritter and Fabian Vogel presented our Seer®️ solution, an AI-powered airport intelligence suit designed to revolutionize airport turnaround process. Through engaging discussions with ground operations experts, we gathered invaluable feedback and gained insights into the challenges they face. A big thank you to everyone we connected with for the conversations. We’re excited by the positive response and look forward to exploring future collaborations! #Innovation #Aviation #GroundOperations #Digitalization #zeroG #LifeatzeroG

We are excited to share that we recently held Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) training sessions! The sessions were both engaging and insightful, providing valuable learning experiences for all of us. Through these workshops, we gained a deeper understanding of how DEI shapes our workplace culture, enhances interpersonal interactions, and fosters an environment where every individual feels valued and respected. The training covered a variety of important topics, including neurodiversity, where we explored its different types, characteristics, and strengths. We also discussed the role of unconscious biases and cognitive modes, learning how to recognize and mitigate their impact on decision-making and assumptions about others. Additionally, we addressed the concept of microaggression, exploring its subtle yet significant effects on individuals and discussing ways to foster healthy, respectful communication within the workplace. Through self-reflection exercises and group discussions, we were able to deepen our understanding of these topics and gain greater awareness of our own biases and behaviors. We extend our sincere thanks to Erum Chaudhry, Chief Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Officer Americas at Lufthansa Group for her keynote, and to Hannah Kühne, Health and Diversity Manager from Lufthansa InTouch, and Prof. Dr. Maria Douneva for leading these important workshops, and to our entire DEI team for the organization. At zeroG, we are deeply committed to growth and learning, particularly in the area of DEI. We have a team composed of amazing individuals from around the world; therefore, understand that an inclusive environment and cultivating positive relationships among colleagues are among our top priorities. #DiversityEquityInclusion #DEI #InclusiveWorkplace #WorkplaceCulture #zeroG #LifeatzeroG
