🧪 Chemistry Innovation took the Center Stage at the Chemistry Pitch Day in Nuremberg 👩🔬 Here's a glimpse of the impressive pitches we've seen yesterday : 1️⃣ Tomaz Bizjak from ReCatalyst dazzled us with their hydrogen tech innovations from Slovenia, aiming to revolutionize fuel cell and water electrolysis applications by optimizing the use of precious metals. 2️⃣ Lisa Langer of ionysis GmbH took the stage with their pioneering electro-chemical solutions for hydrogen, proposing a shift from fluorinated to hydrocarbon materials, enhancing sustainability and slashing costs. 3️⃣ Arne Birth of elementarhy introduced their cost-efficient electro-chemical solutions, designed to empower the hydrogen industry and pave the way for a zero-emission society. 4️⃣ Michéle Tille presented CYNiO's breakthrough in using CO2 to produce special chemical building blocks, promising a more cost-effective variety than current market offerings. 5️⃣ Oliver Zech from HeiQ Xpectra revealed their insulation innovation, promising up to 25% better insulation and significant energy efficiency improvements, all while being accessible for professionals and DIY enthusiasts. 6️⃣ Sarvesh Poddar of Sustanix showcased their 100% plant-based, recyclable coatings and additives, aiming to replace fossil-based polymers in personal care products. 7️⃣ Dr. Guido Schroer of Power2Polymers introduced their mission to transform the specialty polymer market with sustainable, high-performance materials. 8️⃣ CO2BioClean GmbH's Fabiana Fantinel and Dr. Josef Glass pitched their patented technology for producing biodegradable polymers from CO2, challenging the economics of fossil plastics. 9️⃣ Christian Weilach of CO2OL Catalyst presented their approach to recycle CO2 emissions into methanol using a sulfur-resistant catalyst. 🔟 And, Denys Shevchenko of Copper Lavender AB closed the session with their vision to replace petrochemicals with renewable counterparts derived from CO2. 💚Grüne Start-ups beurteilen das Gründungsumfeld in #NRW positiv 💚 Wir freuen uns über die positiven Ergebnisse des Green Start-up Monitor NRW 2024! Laut dem Bericht sind 86 % der grünen Start-ups zufrieden, im Vergleich zum Bundesschnitt von 56 %. NRW ist führend bei grünen Gründungen, mit 20 % der deutschen grünen Start-ups und einer starken Technologieorientierung von 31 %. Diese Unternehmen könnten bis zu 13 Millionen Tonnen CO₂-Äquivalente einsparen, was ihren wichtigen Beitrag zum Klimaschutz hervorhebt. Die Studie identifiziert auch Herausforderungen, wie die Notwendigkeit, bürokratische Hindernisse zu beseitigen und die Vernetzung mit der etablierten Wirtschaft zu verbessern. Der Green Startup Monitor NRW 2024 betont das Potenzial grüner Start-ups als Innovations- und Wachstumsmotoren. Für weiteren Fortschritt sind allerdings verstärkte Unterstützung, weniger Bürokratie und bessere Vernetzung entscheidend. Mit diesen Schritten könnte sich NRW als Zentrum für nachhaltige Innovationen profilieren. In the Advance Precision #Biosolutions innovation growth area, Evonik scientists are using biotechnology to develop solutions that improve people’s #health and #qualityoflife, save energy and resources, or protect ecosystems. The Accelerate #EnergyTransition innovation growth area brings together contributions to the energy transition. These include, for instance, solutions to capture carbon dioxide from the exhaust gases from processes or directly from the air #CCU.
