Once again, we are preparing for the construction of a new #renewable energy project in Germany. Seeing our projects transformed into actual renewable energy sources will always be a pleasure! We are therefore excited that the preparatory measures for the construction of a new #wind turbine with an output of 4.26 MW and a hub height of 160 meters are underway in Uslar-Bollensen, Niedersachsen. After the preparatory work is completed, the large components will be delivered in mid-September 2025, and construction will begin about two weeks later. The commissioning is scheduled for the beginning of December 2025, so that the first kilowatt hour can be fed into the local grid as planned. First, the preparatory construction measures will be carried out, including the removal of the topsoil and the creation of permanent areas, such as the crane area, the permanent service access and the preparation of the foundation base for the foundation. Temporary areas will also be created, for example for the storage of the delivered rotor blades or for the auxiliary cranes required to set up the main crane. As soon as this work is completed, the civil engineering company will concentrate on creating the access road for the transport of the large components. We expect the foundation work to begin in May.

How can we optimize the use of the existing electricity grid? Mariana Figueiredo, Legal Manager Portugal & Legal Counsel Southern Europe at Eurowind Energy, participated at the Energyear PORTUGAL 2025 on the panel addressing “Next Generation #Grid for #Renewable Energy Stability: Scalable BESS Networks and Harmony Among Market Stakeholders”. This panel highlighted the great opportunities that scalable #BESS will bring to the different market stakeholders and emphasized the importance of optimizing grid usage and looking beyond grid reinforcement and additional grid connections. It was also discussed the many challenges that will be introduced by scalable BESS to the existing – and planned – grid, which will have to be carefully tackled by solid regulation, technical expertise, and the cooperation of the grid operators. This panel was joined by Jorge Esteves from @ERSE, João Emanuel Afonso from REN, Luis Alves from E-REDES and Vicente Aguilar Camps from Powin.

We are happy to share that three of our new #PV parks are now in full operation. At the end of February, the Portuguese team at Eurowind Energy successfully connected two photovoltaic (PV) plants to the grid: Monte Brito (9.3 MWp) in Castelo Branco and Quinta do Prazo (14.1 MWp) in Covilhã. These plants, composed of clusters of Small Production Units (UPPs), a project model being implemented in Portugal, will generate enough clean energy to power approximately 10,820 households in the central region of the country. Furthermore in Poland our Batkowo I and II 18MW PV farm has obtained a permit for use, has passed the tests with the Operator and has generated the first kWh. The farm was implemented on Zimmerman trackers.

Eurowind Energy to install one of Denmarks largest #BESS facilities Together with BOS Power Eurowind Energy will develop and install one of Denmark’s largest battery energy storage systems (BESS) as part of our GreenLab Skive hybrid park. BOS Power will act as the system integrator delivering 45 MWh, 2h battery system that includes #energy #storage, inverters (PCSs), energy management system, transformers, switchgears with engineering services to the plant. Eurowind Energy will provide construction services for the plant. The facility is expected to be operational by the end of 2025. BOS Power’s battery energy storage system will provide fast-response power compensation, balancing fluctuations in #wind and #solar generation. The BESS will support grid stability by instantly releasing energy when needed, maintaining frequency stability, and preventing service disruptions. Additionally, the BESS facility will enable Eurowind Energy to potentially expand the park within the existing grid connection. “BOS Power’s expertise in large-scale energy storage and renewable integration made them the ideal partner for this ambitious project. BESS technology is a vital part of our energy parks, ensuring a stable and efficient power supply and grid stability by ancillary services for the benefit of both the local energy supply and the green transition in general,” says Morten Gaarde, Global EPC Director at Eurowind Energy A/S.

We have been granted a remarkably sunny February this year in Denmark, which has affected the PV production and the electricity prices. There have been days where the price per kWh was the same in the middle of the day and at night. Our colleague, Mark Ejlskov Madsen, has produced this beautiful video from one of our parks in Denmark.
