Odense hosts the first Biosolutions conference 💡🌿 How can we harness the potential of biosolutions to create a thriving industry? This question will be explored as national and international stakeholders gather in Odense on November 28th to spotlight the future of biosolutions, organized by Food & Bio Cluster Denmark. A blooming biosolutions industry not only boosts the economy but is also key to building a sustainable future. Denmark is at the forefront of this movement in Europe, and Odense is rapidly establishing itself as a hub for biosolutions, where companies in the sector collaborate to create innovative and sustainable solutions. Hosting the conference in Odense is a significant benefit for local companies. 🤝 The Danish biosolutions sector contributes DKK 13 billion annually to the economy. After wind technology, biosolutions is the technology area where Denmark holds the strongest international position (measured by patenting activity). Odense is experiencing rapid growth in this field, with companies such as Nordic microbes, Evosep Biosystems, Orifarm, ALGIECEL, and many more leading the charge. These companies, along with many others, will gather on November 28th at Forskerparken for the Biosolutions conference. We look forward to following the development of biosolutions in the future — both globally and right here in Odense. 🌍 Read more here: https://lnkd.in/dvQE7n9t Interested to hear more about Bioslutions or this event? Cyber-safe production: Sushant wants to prevent robots from being hacked 🤖🔒 With the increasing number of digital devices connected daily, new opportunities are created, but also challenges such as hacking and data leaks. Sushant Pandey, founder and CEO of the startup Scurid, has set out to change that. His company aims to ensure that autonomous decisions are made on reliable data. 🌐 This led to Scurid being selected by the Odense Robotics StartUp Fund, where robot and drone startups from Denmark and abroad gain access to soft funding, mentors, and an incubator environment at the Danish Technological Institute in Odense. “The incubator is a perfect testing ground for us, where we can get support, test our software, and receive guidance on how to build the company based on our vision.” - Sushant Pandey, CEO, Scurid. Scurid has developed a solution—a software platform—that simplifies and ensures traceability and trust in data, so decisions made in production remain reliable and secure. 👏

From research to reality 🔬 Sustainability in agriculture is more important than ever. With growing environmental challenges, there’s an increasing need for innovative solutions that promote sustainable practices. Nordic microbes, a spinout from the Syddansk Universitet - University of Southern Denmark, specializes in developing microbial products that enhance soil health and plant growth. Their solutions help farmers reduce the need for synthetic fertilizers and pesticides, making agriculture more environmentally friendly while maintaining productivity. 🌱 At the upcoming biosolutions conference in Odense, Morten Ø. Andersen, CEO and co-founder of Nordic microbes, will talk about how the company was founded by turning an academic research project into biosolutions company. Morten will discuss the challenges and opportunities faced by biosolutions startups, and discuss how Nordic microbes is addressing some of agriculture’s biggest issues through innovative microbial technologies. 🧬 With Denmark emerging as a leader in biosolutions, this event offers a valuable opportunity to learn more about the role these solutions can play in shaping a more sustainable future for agriculture. 📅 The Biosolution Conference will take place in Forskerparken, Odense, the 28th of November. 🔗 Read more about the event, and sign up on our website: https://lnkd.in/dvQE7n9t Or reach out to Lone Knudsen Krogsbøll if you have any further questions. A few months ago, HCA Airport welcomed an international drone company. The ambitious American company, Thunderstrike Aviation, has established a permanent presence here in Odense to utilize the unique test facilities and airspace offered in collaboration with UAS Denmark Test Center. In Odense, we have some truly unique facilities for drone companies looking to expand into Europe. Thunderstrike finds that HCA Airport stands out as completely unique among others involved in the drone industry 💪 At the opening earlier this year, they showed their new hangar for drone testing, covering 400 square meters. At the same time, they announced a further expansion of their presence for drone production, which will open in 2025. Thunderstrike specialises in green technology for the drone industry 💚 We are excited to see what the future holds for Thunderstrike in Odense.

Does the rest of the world see what we’re doing in Odense? The answer is yes🌍 In October, Odense was the center of attention of both elite sports and robotics enthusiasts. First, Victor denmark open filled the streets with excited badminton fans and afterwards Week of Robotics culminated with three major robotics conferences in the city. Representatives from over 50 countries were present, including robotics enthusiast Lukas M. Ziegler. He is a true robotics entusiast. He shares the latest robotics inventions from around the world on his profile and joined the Week of Robotics to experience the city’s robotics industry. In Odense, we aim to spread our reputation as a robotics hub as widely as possible, and it’s fantastic to see enthusiasts like Lukas sharing from Victor Denmark Open, where we combined robotics with badminton. Here, for example, shuttlecocks were delivered by a robot from Universal Robots. 🏸🤖
