In the historic building Mejlborg from 1898, Dinesen and Garde Hvalsøe A/S share a showroom that features our VITA® leather on different furniture, from traditional cushions to an innovative table top, demonstrating the leather’s creative potential.⁠ Our VITA® collection is an exclusive and supremely soft aniline leather certified by Dyrenes Beskyttelse (Animal Protection Denmark), as the only one in the industry with this label. Leather is a circular material that supports a circular economy. In Seoul’s new Bornyon restaurant, a main theme in the design is the passage of time. The decision to choose the Swan chair from FRITZ HANSEN, upholstered with our natural leather, was driven by a desire to imbue the space with a sense of enduring beauty.⁠ ⁠ When Youngkwon Kim (from PLAYA) and Geonyoung Kang (from A-D-O Design Architecture Office) collaborated on the interior design of the restaurant, they were captivated by the leather's ability to age gracefully.⁠ ⁠ “From the perspective of an architect, the sense of the passage of time and its naturalness was the key reason for this choice. It was important to evoke the essence of serene relaxation, making it essential for the chairs to be more comfortable, cosy and age naturally over time compared to others,” explains Geonyoung Kang. “I have come to believe that true durability is about furniture that becomes more beautiful over time. For these reasons, I found natural leather highly appealing because even if it gets stained with wine or marks from hands, it ages beautifully.
