Transparent Reflect is a metallised curtain textile designed by Louise Sigvardt, with an airy, elegant expression. It combines a leno-woven front side of fine polyester yarns with an aluminium backing, delivering light and heat-controlling properties, spectacular view-through and daytime privacy benefits. Inspired by the concept of viewing the world through soft and calming colour filters, Transparent Reflect comes in 7 neutral yarn-dyed shades which echo solid colours, as if they have been held up to the light. These notes have been designed to create a sophisticated dynamic with its metallised layer, which gives the curtain a softly shimmering surface. Free from PFAS and made from 100% post-consumer recycled polyester, Tero Outdoor by Ronan Bouroullec is a subtly graphic upholstery for outdoor environments. At M+ in Hong Kong, Kvadrat curtains and upholsteries, along with a Kvadrat Acoustics solution, shape a sensorial backdrop for contemporary visual culture. From galleries to cinemas, our textiles and acoustic solutions create an immersive experience at Asia’s first global museum of contemporary visual culture. “We have a longstanding relationship with Kvadrat. We especially appreciate their core values, which combine reliability and quality with flexibility and creativity. Kvadrat is also very active in the art world through their relationships with artists, so collaborating together on a significant museum like the M+ made for a great match.” - Ascan Mergenthaler, Senior Partner, Herzog & de Meuron. For their new 7-storey headquarters in Copenhagen’s Nordhavn harbour, BIG - Bjarke Ingels Group integrated a Kvadrat Acoustics solution featuring Soft Cells Broadline panels in meeting rooms and workshops, upholstered with a custom metallised textile, and Ginger 2 curtains draped across the large windows overlooking the harbour. The Kvadrat Acoustics solution harmonises with BIG's material palette while addressing the acoustic challenges posed by hard interior elements such as large windows, stone, raw aluminium, and pickled steel. It also enabled BIG to integrate a sound system in the meeting rooms without compromising their vision for a simple, elegant expression. A symphony of textiles. Chosen for their durability and aesthetic quality, Ria and Field clad the 1,612 opera seats at the Opera House in the Nanchang Poly Grand Theatre. Ria adorns the headrests, highlighting the most prominent part of the chair, while Field covers the rest in complementary blue tones. “The PES-Architects and Kvadrat collaboration works fluently due to the close contact between the architectural and the textile designers. While working on demanding public buildings worldwide, which our clients want to be outstanding landmark buildings both visually and functionally, it is important to be flexible and professional with textile choices and suggestions. It’s also helpful for us architects to have quick access to textile samples and to be able to frequently discuss with Kvadrat in person to find the best design solutions together.” – Martin Lukasczyk, Architect SAFA, Partner, Design Manager/Performance Spaces.
