⚓ New White Paper reinforces the superiority of Svitzer's new TRAnsverse Tug ⚓ With its revolutionary design, Svitzer’s newly introduced TRAnsverse tug design takes manoeuvrability and towing capabilities to the next level. That’s the conclusion in our newly released white paper, which includes data from sea trials and from the tug’s first months of operation in IJmuiden, Amsterdam. 🚢 At speeds above 2-3 knots in dynamic modes, the TRAnsverse tug expands the operating envelope by around 50% compared to similar or larger size standard ASD tug designs. Further, the TRAnsverse tug has shown a fuel efficiency gain of 15%. This means that the TRAnsverse tug can perform a wider variety of jobs, do them faster and more fuel efficient, and generally deliver a higher level of performance. 🙌 We are looking forward to welcoming the next TRAnsverse tugs to our fleet in the coming months. Stay tuned! 🌍 Get to know more on the TRAnsverse Tug in the White Paper here ⚓: https://lnkd.in/dttqvz4h

⚓ Svitzer shifts to biofuels at the Port of Esbjerg, Denmark ⚓ To contribute to the decarbonisation of shipping and Port Esbjerg's ambition to be carbon neutral by 2030, Svitzer's tugs operating in the Port of Esbjerg (Denmark) will now change to biofuel. 🚢 As of February 1, Svitzer tugs will be sailing on HVO and customers using Svitzer’s towing services in and out of the port will be subject to EcoBAF, which is short for 'Ecofriendly Bunker Adjustment Factor'. At Svitzer, we are committed to becoming carbon neutral by 2040. We can only achieve this ambition with like-minded partners and customers, explains Mathias Jonasson, Managing Director, Svitzer Scandinavia: “I'm proud and excited that the Port of Esbjerg and Grimaldi share our commitment to creating cleaner operations, to benefit local communities and nature in Esbjerg as part of the West Coast of Jutland.” 🌍 We are looking forward to collaborating on the green transition at the Port of Esbjerg! 🤝 Read more: https://lnkd.in/d-eiWrb7 Photo credit: Port of Esbjerg

⚓ A milestone of Innovation: First Svitzer TRAnsverse tug named today ⚓ Today, we have named our first TRAnsverse tug, Svitzer Taurus, in Amsterdam. A day worth celebrating together with more than 100 customers, crews and colleagues who have collaborated to develop the innovative TRAnsverse tug, taking manoeuvrability and towing capabilities to the next level. The TRAnsverse tug can handle towage jobs faster, safer, and more fuel efficient. This way, we can create positive effects throughout the supply chain by meeting the challenges of e.g. port congestion and extreme weather that cause delays and drive up costs. A big thank you to Godmother Saskia Taylor for taking part in the ceremony and to Robert Allan Ltd. and Sanmar A.S. for innovating with us. Today marks a milestone in the towage industry. 👏 A warm welcome to Svitzer Taurus operating out of IJmuiden in the Netherlands. 🚢

Svitzer and Höegh Autoliners Partner to Deliver the First-Ever EcoTow Solution in Australia. This milestone occurred while servicing “Höegh Aurora,” the largest and most environmentally friendly car carrier vessel class in the world, during its maiden call to four ports Down Under. The uptake of EcoTow by Höegh Autoliners in Australia highlights the significant progress in maritime decarbonisation and potential net zero operations in the future. EcoTow is Svitzer’s proprietary carbon insetting solution, and it has provided a near 100% reduction in CO2 emissions relating to the towage operations of Höegh Aurora’s port calls during her maiden voyage to Australia. With the EcoTow solution, the carbon emissions from towage jobs are mass balanced by carbon credits generated by Svitzer’s use of biofuel across its international towage operations. The neutralisation effect is established by an external auditor and documented through certification and assurance reporting. Read the entire press release here: https://lnkd.in/dKEwdiFb
