Thrilled to Announce My Latest Publication! I'm excited to share that my latest research paper titled "Benchmark Sample Design for the Validation of Residual Stress Measurements by Diffraction: Insights and Practicalities" is now available online! In this study, we designed benchmark samples to validate residual stress measurements using diffraction techniques(neutron and synchrotron). Special thanks to Matt Roy and Philip Withers for hiring me in this project. My postdoc experience at Manchester was invaluable, particularly in honing my skills to present research clearly and concisely. This research was conducted at the The University of Manchester and the Henry Royce Institute with support and funding from the EASI-STRESS Consortium. One of the last big activities of EASI-STRESS today comes to an end. Matt Roy, Robin Lawrence, Guilherme Abreu Faria, Nikolaj Henriksen, David Canelo Yubero, Zhe Cai and Marc Thiry from the project team together with Ed Kingston from VEQTER Ltd and Jeferson Araujo de Oliveira from StressMap enjoyed both the boat trip on the Moldova and the final day of #ECRS-11 (European Residual stesss Conference) in #Prague. We thank the organisers from Charles University and the Czech and Slovak Crystallographic Association for the great event full of inspiring presentations and intersting discussions. #materialsscience #residualstress

For the EASI-STRESS tutorial today at the European Conference on Residual Stresses, we introduced the topic “Quantification and uncertainties in residual stress measurement” summing up a lot of the work and sharing the experiences from EASI-STRESS with the community. There is a lot of great work going on all over Europe, and during the 3 years of running the EASI-STRESS project, we have felt a boost in industrial interest in using these advanced measurement techniques to determine residual stresses. I introduced the event, which also featured my colleague from Teknologisk Institut, Nikolaj Henriksen, and several EASI-STRESS partners: Fabien Lefebvre, Matt Roy, Juan Manuel Martinez, David Canelo and Thilo Pirliing. As well as Per Lundin, Jesus Ruiz-Hervias and Ed Kingston, who all contributed to the knowledge and discussions in the field of residual stress determination. The work is supported by the European Commission through the Horizon Europe programme (grant ID 953219).

Great to see that there is cooperation on solving industrial residual stress challenges going on until the very end of the project.

Join the EASI-STRESS tutorial/workshop in Prague June 3rd during the European Conference on Residual Stress. We have put together a programme of experts to discuss WHICH measurement & modelling techniques to apply and HOW to quantify results and uncertainties. Extended Application Deadline: MATRAC 2 School “Application of #Neutrons and #Synchrotron Radiation in Materials Science with Special Focus on Fundamental Aspects of Materials” to be held in Herrsching and Garching (near Munich), Germany, from 1st to 6th September 2024 We would like to inform you that the registration period for the MATRAC 2 School 'Application of Neutrons and Synchrotron Radiation in Materials Science with Special Focus on Fundamental Aspects of Materials' has been extended. The final application deadline is 12 May 2024.   The MATRAC 2 School is organised by our project partner Helmholtz-Zentrum Hereon and will provide a systematic overview of the application of neutrons and synchrotron radiation to the structural analysis of materials and will focus on neutron scattering and imaging experiments. All relevant experimental methods will be covered. The school consists of a two-day theoretical course in Herrsching with some interactive teaching elements and two days of experiments at the MLZ / FRM II in Garching. The fifth day of the school offers further talks and a final discussion.
