How did a small Estonian start-up become one of the fastest-growing tech companies with over 150 million customers and 3.5 million partners in 45 countries? One word: culture. Ever since Markus, Martin and Oliver created Bolt ten years ago, our operating principles have been guiding us along the way. So, to celebrate our 10th birthday, we made a video about them. 🟢 Customer first We optimise for long-term positive impact on the world, not just personal gains next quarter. That means always starting from the customer's needs and working backwards to find solutions. 🟢 Act like an owner We care about what’s best for the company, not only one team. Whenever we see problems outside of our area of responsibility, we speak up and try to help. 🟢 Be frugal We consider the impact of every resource we spend. That’s how we solve difficult problems with less than other companies spend on office perks. But when we identify opportunities that make a difference, we invest aggressively. 🟢 Extreme pragmatism We discard most opportunities to focus on what matters. We balance common sense and data to arrive at the right decisions. We don’t fool ourselves that we’re perfect and take critical feedback seriously. 🟢 We challenge each other but mean well The best solutions are found through intense, but respectful debate. We seek out people that can prove our arguments wrong, not simply confirm our beliefs. We give honest feedback to help people grow, but make sure they know we’re on their side. 🟢 We work hard and smart We take pride in pushing ourselves to achieve extraordinary things, but we know our true limits and when to take a break. We never put in hours just for the sake of hours. What matters is impact and if we find a shortcut to success, we go for it. 🟢 Be better, not different There is no point in reinventing the wheel if it works for us. But the opposite is also true — everybody else doing something doesn’t make it right. Where it matters, we think from first principles and create solutions that nobody has thought of before. 🟢 Short-term pessimism, long-term optimism We’re focused on existing problems and upcoming challenges in our daily work. But we remain highly optimistic that the future will be far better than the present. We just realise that to get there, we can never grow arrogant or take the trust of customers for granted. 🟢 Great people over complex processes We believe that the better people we have, the fewer processes we need. We empower our teams and give them the freedom to make decisions, keeping bureaucracy to a minimum. 🟢 Have fun! People perform best when surrounded by those they enjoy spending time with. People who raise others up, not put them down. We want to be a positive influence on those around us, by pushing them to achieve extraordinary things and giving praise whenever it’s due. Colder autumn days are pushing people back to their cars, leading to a significant drop in micromobility usage. Luckily, we’ve stitched up a perfect fix.
Introducing Glovables: knitted protection gear for scooter and bike handlebars, crafted with a generous dose of love and decades of skill by real grannies. If you know your way around knitting needles, head to our blog and download the DIY knitting chart. If you don’t, send the knitting chart to someone who can — and who owes you a favour. https://lnkd.in/dBMFV69c #Bolt

Hey, I’m Bori! Originally from Hungary, I moved to Poland to start a new chapter in my personal and professional life. I joined Bolt’s Public Policy team in 2023, where I blend project management and knowledge management to drive impactful change. Let me share how I got here and what makes this role so exciting. ⬆️ A leap of love and growth Six years ago, I made the life-changing decision to move from Hungary to Poland to be with my now-husband. What started as a bold and uncertain move has blossomed into a rewarding journey. I’ve built a vibrant life, both personally and professionally, and Poland now feels like home. 🏗️ Building and adapting at Bolt In 2023, I spotted an exciting role in Bolt’s Public Policy team, focusing on turning ideas into real projects that impact our customers. My passion for business execution and project management has enabled me to support global initiatives, enhance information sharing, and develop tools that benefit our customers, partners, drivers, and couriers. While adapting to Bolt’s fast-paced was a challenge, it’s also what makes the work exciting. Our team engages with stakeholders worldwide, pitching our mission and building community programs, allowing me to contribute to meaningful change across Europe and Africa. 💪 Why you should take the leap If you’re coming from an established company and considering a move to a startup-like environment, my advice is simple: go for it. It will be challenging, but being part of something innovative and impactful will be incredibly rewarding. You’ll be able to take ownership, drive change, and witness the results firsthand. *** Looking for a challenge? Join us! 👉 careers.bolt.eu #bolt #lifeatbolt

Is it time to rethink the tender game? 🧐 Here’s the scoop: While tenders seem like they may give cities more control over micromobility operators and improve oversight, our study with Deloitte shows that flexible regulation does the same thing with better perks. ✅ More affordable prices ✅ Easier to swap out underperforming operators ✅ Happier consumers On Thursday, October 3rd, we're co-hosting with Zag Daily an exclusive event in London to crack the code on the perfect micromobility regulation in Europe. Join us! *** Check out the interview with our VP of Rentals, Dmitri Pivovarov! https://lnkd.in/efZHx4PK

Hi, everyone! It’s Pavel. Nearly four years ago, I joined Bolt as a Senior Software Engineer on the Rentals team. Today, I’m a Staff Software Engineer and serve as the Group Technical Lead for car-sharing and micromobility verticals, ensuring our services run smoothly and without a hitch. The precision required in my work mirrors the discipline I’ve cultivated through my passion for running. 🏃 Balancing tech and the track Sports have been a significant part of my life. Coming from the north, winter sports were a big part of my upbringing, and I started with cross-country skiing. Relocating to a larger city made skiing impractical, so I turned to running. I found it to be both affordable and convenient—just lace up and go. Over the years, I've become skilled at spotting whether a city is pedestrian-friendly or car-focused, which helps me plan my routes more effectively. When I moved to Estonia, I continued my running journey, participating in marathons and even achieving a personal best of 2 hours 40 minutes this year. Next year, I aim to break into Estonia's top 10 marathon runners. 🔥 Fuel for body, mind, and career Running has a profound impact on both my personal and professional life. Beyond fitness, it sharpens my focus, lifts my mood, and helps me manage busy days. The discipline of regular training, supported by my running club, fuels my motivation and keeps me grounded in all areas of life. Marathon preparation, in particular, requires months of mental and physical commitment, but the real test comes in the final 7-10 kilometres, where sheer willpower and support help push through 'the wall' and finish strong. Ultimately, running strengthens not just the body but also the mind and spirit, boosting every aspect of life. 🏅 Ready, set, go! If you're thinking about starting a running routine, keep in mind that getting started is often the most challenging part. So start small: 👉 Alternate between running and walking, and gradually build up your stamina. 👉 Join a running club or find a buddy — it can significantly boost motivation. 👉 Set achievable goals and celebrate your progress. Remember, the journey is just as important as the destination. Enjoy the process, and let each step bring you closer to your goals! *** And if you want to start your journey at Bolt, we have hundreds of open vacancies: careers.bolt.eu #bolt #lifeatbolt
