Vetik reposted this
During our team’s time on Saaremaa, we Aneth, Anton, Krista, Jana, and Indrek visited one of the participants in our Deeptech Batch, the startup Vetik. The friendly founder, Tanel Ilmjärv, gave us a tour of their laboratory and the facilities where their work is carried out. Wanna know cool facts? 💡 Vetik is developing biostimulants from local red seaweed (Furcellaria lumbricalis) for agriculture to enhance plant growth in a sustainable way. 💡 Their advanced process allows for the simultaneous extraction of plant biostimulants for agriculture, red pigments for cosmetics, food, and textiles, as well as cellulose biomass with gelling properties for bioplastics, biofertilizers, animal feed, and much more. 💡 Vetik has an exclusive license to harvest large stocks of red seaweed, Furcellaria lumbricalis, in Estonian waters. Thanks to Tanel, Valmar, Arvi, Toonika for showing us a glimpse of your everyday job! 👏 We enjoy visiting the labs & productions of our portfolio startups because is shows us the real work being done, without the formalities of a conference room. We sincerely wish you all the best & much success! We are glad that Vetik chose Beamline Accelerator as their development partner and took advantage of the opportunity to participate in our special Deeptech Batch! 🧫 Also, a reminder that the application round for the Energy Program is now open. The content of the program is similar to the Deeptech Program but specifically targets Energy, Construction, and Climate Resilience startups. You can apply via the link in the first comment 👇
