Ms. Soringue Borrell introduced the hub that brings together start-ups, large corporations, research labs, and innovation centers. 🌍💧 Strengthening EU-Egypt Partnerships: A New Chapter of Cooperation for Water and Food Security 🚀 As part of the 7th Cairo Water Week, the Water Investment Forum between Egypt and the European Union marked a pivotal moment for EU-Egypt collaboration on sustainable water management and climate resilience. In the presence of H.E. Prof. Dr. Hani Sewilam, Dr. Rania A. Al-Mashat, and Ambassador Christian Berger, the signing of the European Green Facility under the Team Europe Initiative (TEI) was a major highlight, signaling the start of a new chapter in our joint efforts to tackle water and agricultural challenges. This initiative supports Egypt’s Vision 2030, promoting efficient water use, irrigation technologies, and sustainable agricultural practices. As Prof. Sewilam emphasized, “The Team Europe Initiative is a vital step in addressing the water scarcity and food security issues Egypt faces, while also supporting the long-term sustainable management of our natural resources.” The EU’s steadfast support over the years has been instrumental in strengthening Egypt’s ability to adapt to climate change, protect its resources, and ensure food security. The participants witnessed the signature of the EU Green Facility between the Ministry of Planning, Economic Development & International Cooperation and the EU.
