Yesterday, I was in one of the devastated areas, specifically in Massanassa. We went to help a woman clean the mud out of her house; the water had reached one meter in height. The scene was like a war zone; it’s something you can’t even begin to imagine. Television is one thing, but the smell, the sludge, the sadness, the energy, and the constant flow of people wandering around with faces full of sorrow—it’s overwhelming. There were eight of us helping the aunt of one of them, and we did what we could, gave her a bit of dignity. But coming back home, I feel terrible for being okay and not being able to do more. I haven’t seen Pedro Sánchez, Mazón, or anyone offering even a little hope to these people. This isn’t about politics anymore; it’s about humanity, and I believe that the entire political class lacks it. But I did see young people, adults, crowds—rivers of people. You can’t imagine how proud I am of my neighbors, of the Valencians. They came with whatever they had; no one can grasp the immense, spontaneous wave of solidarity. I hope we can all be up to the task and not forget these people, which is what they will likely try to do as soon as possible, covering it up with trivial news. ——- Ayer estuve en una de las zonas devastadas concretamente en Massanassa, fuimos a ayudar a una señora a limpiar su casa de barro, el agua llegó a 1 metro de altura, el escenario era de guerra, es algo que no puedes ni eres capaz de imaginar, la tele es una cosa, el olor, el fango, la tristeza, la energía, el va y ven de personas deambulando con rostros llenos de pena. Fuimos 8 personas a ayudar a la tía de uno de ellos hicimos lo que pudimos, le dimos dignidad , pero vuelvo a casa y me siento horrible por estar bien y no poder hacer más, no he visto ni a Pedro Sánchez, ni Mazón ni nadie, ofreciendo un poco de luz a esta gente, no es política ya es humanidad y creo que TODA la clase política no la tiene . Pero si vi, chavales, personas , ríos de gente, no os podéis imaginar lo orgulloso que estoy de mis vecinos, de los valencianos, fueron con lo que tenían, nadie se puede imaginar la ola tremenda, improvisada de solidaridad, espero que todos estemos a la altura y no nos olvidemos de esta gente, que es lo que intentarán hacer cuanto antes, tapar esto con noticias intrascendentes.
