Introducing the third panel of day one at Aerial Cities 2024: Investor views on scaling businesses. In this session, key stakeholders from private and public investment sectors (already invested in drones or AAM) will share their insights and perspectives on the drone and eVTOL markets following a particularly challenging year in 2023. The conversation aims to highlight how investors navigate the evolving landscape, adapt strategies, and identify areas with potential for significant growth despite recent adversities. Dario Di Martino is the founder and Technical Director of DMD Solutions, an aerospace company specialising in RMS Engineering (Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, and Safety). Dario is an engineer with a solid technical background and excellent management skills. Gabriela Matic is a Venture Partner at Aerospace Xelerated. This Boeing-led global startup accelerator invests in and supports early-stage companies developing scalable solutions for the aerospace industry and beyond. She is also a co-founder and director of Metta, an agency focused on improving the sustainability and accessibility of innovation. Gary Cutts of UK Research and Innovation has 35 years of experience in the Aviation industry and is now leading the UK government’s Future Flight Challenge programme. In this role, he works across government and industry to create innovative new aviation systems encompassing drones and Advanced Air Mobility vehicles. He is a member of the UK’s Future of Flight Industry Group, the Zero Emissions Flight Regulatory Group. Gordon Baker is the policy lead for Robotics at the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT). In this role, he aims to understand society's opportunities and challenges around robotics and automation and support innovative R&D and commercialisation of these technologies for the public good.
