🌞 Shinning bright in Italy! 🇮🇹 We have connected our first large-scale solar project in Italy to the grid! The Boccadoro solar park, located in Serracapriola, Puglia, represents a significant step in diversifying our renewable energy sources in a market with which we have established strong relations. With an installed capacity of 10 MWp, Boccadoro will produce 17.5 GWh of clean energy annually, enough to power over 6,000 homes and avoid the emission of 7,000 tons of CO2 each year. "Projects like Boccadoro accelerate energy independence and strengthen the Italian energy system. Deploying EDP's first utility-scale photovoltaic plant in Italy is a milestone and a demonstration of our commitment to Italy's PNIEC goals of achieving up to 80 GW of installed photovoltaic capacity by 2030”, says Roberto Pasqua, Executive Director South & East Europe at EDPR. We currently have a capacity of almost 400 MW in wind and solar projects under construction in Italy, which will allow EDPR to reach more than 1 GW of clean energy construction capacity since our entry into Italy, marking a significant journey to promote a cleaner future and drive solutions in the renewable energy sector. Through EDP Energia Italia, we are also investing in decentralized solar generation, helping businesses produce their own energy and reduce CO2 emissions. Learn more here: https://lnkd.in/dsw2kADX

The We Choose Earth Tour '24 has come to an end, and it was truly an inspirational event! The Tour brought together some of the most influential voices, including Ban Ki-moon, Cate Blanchett, Alex Honnold, and Kjell Nordström, whose contributions to the 2024 edition have truly sown the seeds of change. We are profoundly inspired by the insights shared by the speakers in Munich. Cate Blanchett emphasized, “We have to know sustainable energy is not a possibility, it’s a reality”, highlighting the urgency of our actions. Sandrine Dixson-Declève reminded us that “the cost of inaction is greater than the cost of action”. Ban Ki-moon, in his conversation with Miguel Stilwell d’Andrade, left us with the empowering message that "we can create the future we want”. Thank you to everyone who joined us in Munich and to those who joined us through the live streaming. Together, we are making significant strides towards a sustainable future for our planet because We Choose Earth. #EDPWeChooseEarth #AllGreen2030 #EnergyTransition
