Phlux Technology, a Sheffield-based infrared sensor startup, has raised €10.7 million in a Series A funding round to enable the next generation of fibre broadband connectivity 🇬🇧 🔌 The funding round was led by BGF with existing investors Octopus Ventures, Northern Gritstone, and Foresight Group also participating. Benjamin White, CEO of Phlux, said: “This funding comes at a pivotal moment as demand for high-speed optical communication systems is growing enormously. By developing world-class, high-performance infrared sensors, we are enabling industries to push the boundaries of connectivity, sensitivity and efficiency by removing a technology bottleneck that has persisted for over 20 years.” https://lnkd.in/dr4zk9iv

Paris-based Tomorro, a platform innovating the contract-management market, has raised €25 million in its latest funding round, which will go hand-in-hand with the opening of offices in France and Germany 🇫🇷 💫 Led by XAnge and Acton Capital, the round company also backed by Adelie and Founders Future. Previous investors henQ, Resonance, Financière Saint James, and Motier Ventures have also participated in this round. This follows the €11 million raised 18 months ago. “Opening a German office is the first stage ahead of expanding into other European countries. 2025 will also see us recruit an entire sales, marketing and customer team as well as consolidate our staff in France to further underpin the solution that we provide,” said Antoine Fabre, Co-founder and CEO of Tomorro. https://lnkd.in/dPyCffrW

Happy to share that I’ll be speaking at the EU-Startups Summit in Malta on April 25th, joining Mantas Vaskela (AISPECO) and Ida Tin (Clue) for a panel called “Pivot and Persist: Resilience Lessons for Startups”. 🇲🇹 We’ll be talking about my entrepreneurial journey, including the start, rapid growth, and eventual collapse of my previous startup Agrando (once known to be Europe’s biggest farmer marketplace in 2021). Sharing some of the darkest chapters of my life isn’t easy, but I hope it encourages anyone who’s on the fence about founding a company: despite the high odds of failure, it’s still worth taking that leap. Today, I’m fully dedicated to my current company EverLeaf - a value-driven, people-first BPO focused on Sales and Customer Service that has grown to 150 employees, remains profitable, and is on track to reach 4 million euros in revenue this year. I look forward to discussing how resilience, culture, and a strong sense of purpose can lead to new beginnings.
