The lack of women's representation in Project Europe is deeply concerning and disheartening. Beyond the obvious lack of gender diversity in the startup, VC and investment ecosystem, many women entrepreneurs may not even apply to certain startup programmes due to a lack of representation. Seeing no representation often discourages women from applying. Many feel the need to be ‘overqualified’ before even considering an opportunity. Others steer clear of programmes that don’t demonstrate a clear commitment to diversity, fearing an uneven playing field.
