The International Sociological Association (ISA), founded in 1949 under the auspices of UNESCO, is a non-profit association for scientific purposes. Its function is to represent sociologists everywhere, regardless of their school of thought, scientific approaches, or ideological opinion. It is a member of the International Science Council; it is associated as an NGO with the United Nations (UN) Department of Global Communications and has NGO consultative status with the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). The main goal of the ISA is to advance sociological knowledge worldwide. In its structure, the Association recognizes the aspirations of sociologists in all parts of the world and endeavors to support and strengthen the free development of sociology in cooperation with similar associations of social scientists.

Short piece on re-thinking Open Science to care for equity and inclusion , as part of a special section of the journal "Global Dialogue" of the International Sociological Association (ISA) edited by Fernanda Beigel. I argue that the conceptualization and promotion of Open Science need to be reframed to serve the goal of supporting epistemic justice - given that evidence suggests that most current implementations of OS as access are exacerbating inequalities and do not necessarily foster societal impact.
