Moto2™ and Moto3™ session format changes coming in 2025 The GPC has approved a number of regulation updates for the intermediate and lightweight classes from next season. The Grand Prix Commission has approved some sporting and technical regulation updates for Moto2™ and Moto3™ in 2025. One is the session format. After the success of the new format in the MotoGP™ class providing a balance between entry to Q2 and track time for teams and riders to work on setup, the session structure for Moto2™ and Moto3 will change in 2025 to establish consistency across the classes. This will give Moto2™ and Moto3™ two Free Practice sessions that do not count towards entry to Q2 and one Practice session on Friday afternoon that will decide the entrants to Q2. Another is if it rains on the grid. The rain on grid procedure for Moto2™ and Moto3™ will be brought in line with MotoGP™, so in case of rain on the grid in Moto2™ or Moto3™, bikes will now be pushed into pit lane to make adjustments. In the technical regulations, the Moto3™ chassis and engine price cap has been adjusted, as well as the specification freeze in Moto3™. Finally, manufacturers with concessions in Moto2™ will also get more test days. Read the full GPC here! ➡️ https://lnkd.in/dkdwxXSW

📅 2025 MotoGP™ calendar revealed 📅 Here we go! The provisional 2025 FIM MotoGP™ World Championship calendar has been published by the FIM, revealing the dates and races for the upcoming season of the most exciting sport on Earth. 22 Grands Prix in 18 countries are set to take place in 2025, including the return of Brno in Czechia and the debut of Balaton Park in Hungary. Designed for fans to enjoy the best of MotoGP™ wherever they are in the world, the calendar is as efficient as possible at the same time as balancing social and economic factors to maximise our positive impact. With four long-haul events to begin the year and four to round it off, 2025 will be a balanced and well-paced season of competition for riders, teams and paddock personnel. THE FIRST FLYAWAYS After pre-season testing at Sepang and Buriram, the Thai Grand Prix prepares to make history as the first season opener in Southeast Asia for 25 years – and the first ever in Thailand. Then there’s time to recharge before we return to Termas de Rio Hondo in Argentina and the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, TX. Next up it’s Lusail International Circuit in Qatar after Ramadan has concluded, before the classic start to the European stint as Jerez prefaces Le Mans, where the French GP will be aiming to break the all-time attendance record once again. Then it’s two events in new timeslots: the British GP at Silverstone at the end of May and the Aragon GP two weeks later. GETTING IN THE GROOVE The well-paced rhythm continues from there on out, with the season completed by back-to-backs. First it’s Mugello and then a special 100th anniversary event at Assen, before the Sachsenring prefaces MotoGP™’s return to Brno. After a few weekends off for summer break, action re-opens in Austria at the Red Bull Ring before the debut of Balaton Park in Hungary, with Catalunya and the San Marino GP at Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli closing out action in Europe – for the moment. THE FINAL STINT From there we’re off to Asia once more, with Motegi in Japan first up before we go to Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit on Lombok in Indonesia. A weekend off then gives everyone chance to recharge ahead of out trip to Australia as Phillip Island welcomes us Down Under, before the final “flyaway” will take place at Sepang in Malaysia. The final two stops on the new-look calendar bring us back to Europe as we conclude the season with the recently-confirmed Portuguese GP at Portimão and the classic curtain closer at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia. #MotoGP2025 | Full PR 👉 https://lnkd.in/dPJK-tmq

Balaton Park in Hungary to be included on 2025 #MotoGP calendar. The world’s most exciting sport is set to return to the central European country next season. Balaton Park in Hungary is set to be included on the 2025 MotoGP™ calendar. The venue, near Lake Balaton in western Hungary, will undergo upgrades to the circuit and facility in order to welcome the world’s most exciting sport next season. MotoGP™ first raced in Hungary in 1990 before returning for a second Hungarian GP in 1992. Since, the nation has also celebrated the successes of home hero Gábor Talmácsi as he became the first Hungarian to become a Grand Prix World Champion by taking the 2007 125cc crown. Now, 2025 will see the pinnacle of motorcycle racing return to compete in the country, adding another chapter to its history thanks to the debut of Balaton Park on the MotoGP™ calendar. Provisional dates for the event are the 22nd to the 24th of August 2025. Upgrades will be made to the circuit itself to prepare for the debut of MotoGP™, and work will be undertaken on infrastructure and fan services in advance of the crowds that accompany the world’s most exciting sport wherever we race. Lake Balaton, the largest in central Europe, will provide a stunning backdrop for MotoGP™ – giving fans chance to enjoy top class sports entertainment in a spectacular tourist destination. Fans of the MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship can also look forward to racing at Balaton Park next season, with the venue to be included for both MotoGP™ and WorldSBK.
