🌱 We're thrilled to have hosted Carbios' second international conference in Toulouse, focusing on enzyme-catalyzed plastic recovery! This event enabled valuable discussions on the latest scientific advancements in enzymatic plastic waste recovery, emphasizing the progress of polymer-degrading enzymes as a key to sustainable solutions. Scientists from all over the world will have the opportunity to foster collaboration and drive innovation toward a more sustainable future. Over these two days, we had the pleasure of welcoming: 👨🔬 👩🔬 19 distinguished speakers from prestigious institutions, including University Hamburg, University Greifswald, Umons University, Nanyang Technological University, CNRS, Leipzig University, Forschungszentrum Jülich, Oak Ridge National Laboratory, DTU, Aalborg University, ITENE, University of Manchester, Kyungpook National University, CSIC, Aarhus University, Chinese Academy of Sciences, University of Konstanz, RWTH Aachen University, University of Delaware. 🧑🎤 16 flash talks presented by postdoctoral researchers, PhD students, young and senior scientists, emphasizing the contributions of innovators in enzyme technology. 🌍 Over 150 international participants, fostering a truly global dialogue on the future of sustainable plastic management. La récente visite de M. le Premier Ministre Michel Barnier dans le Puy-de-Dôme, a été l’opportunité pour Carbios de réaffirmer l’importance du soutien apporté par France 2030 dans le cadre de la construction, en Meurthe-et-Moselle, de sa première usine de biorecyclage de PET.  Comme le soulignait Bruno Bonnell, « l’accompagnement de France 2030 permet à la France de se doter d’une solution innovante de traitement des plastiques et de soutenir un continuum du développement de Carbios, de la recherche à l'industrialisation. »  Nous sommes particulièrement reconnaissants du soutien renouvelé de l’État français et des institutions comme l’ADEME, la European Investment Bank (EIB) et la Région Grand Est, qui jouent un rôle clé dans cette étape cruciale de notre déploiement industriel et international. 🌍  🙌 Cette usine est une première mondiale et sera une véritable vitrine de notre technologie à l’international. Après plus de 10 ans de R&D, elle concrétise notre ambition de rendre circulaires les plastiques et les textiles tout en participant à la relance industrielle française. 

🏆 CARBIOS remporte le LUXEPACK Green Award 2024 dans la catégorie RSE ! Cette distinction reconnaît notre procédé de recyclage enzymatique du PET et l’impact environnemental et sociétal de notre première usine à Longlaville, qui sera opérationnelle en 2026. Ce site est la première usine au monde dédiée au biorecyclage, un procédé innovant permettant de rendre le PET véritablement circulaire, sans compromis sur la qualité. Ce prix marque la continuité de nos engagements RSE, déjà salués cet été au LuxePack Green à Paris avec un flacon en PET issu du recyclage enzymatique présenté avec L’Occitane en Provence, fruit d’une filière européenne d’économie circulaire. 🔬 Innovation scientifique : Transformation d’une avancée technologique en réalité industrielle. 🌍 Engagement durable : Réhabilitation d’un site industriel pour un avenir plus respectueux de l’environnement. International certifications for CARBIOS Active: one step closer to a sustainable future 🌱 The use of CARBIOS Active, our enzymatic solution, in combination with different PLA grades, has demonstrated its performance to accelerate the biodegradation of PLA. Several certifications have been granted since the beginning of the year 🎖️ 👉 “OK Compost HOME” from TÜV AUSTRIA Group 👉 “Home Compostable” & “Biodegradable in Soil” from DIN CERTCO 👉 Compostable from #Biodegradable Products Institute (BPI), “Home Composting” certification from #Australasian Bioplastics Association. [PRESS RELEASE] CARBIOS and Selenis Specialty Polyester Solutions announce strategic partnership to produce PETG issued from CARBIOS’ biorecycling technology for Cosmetic and Healthcare markets CARBIOS and SELENIS have signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) to cooperate in the production of PETG (Polyethylene terephthalate glycol). By leveraging CARBIOS’ unique enzymatic depolymerization technology and Selenis’ expertise in polymerization, the companies aim to develop a premium, sustainable PETG material made from PET waste for the Cosmetic and Healthcare packaging sectors across Europe and the U.S. PETG is an indispensable packaging material in both the cosmetics and healthcare industries due to its exceptional clarity, durability, mechanical and chemical resistance. CARBIOS’ enzymatic depolymerization solution breaks down all types of PET waste into PTA and MEG monomers, which are then transformed into PETG through Selenis’ advanced polymerization processes. Thanks to the purity of these monomers, PETG issued from biorecycling presents the exact same properties as virgin PETG. [PRESS RELEASE] CARBIOS and Sleever partner up to co-develop and bring to market first Home Compost biodegradable shrinksleeve labels Both companies announced the signing of an exclusive, long-term contract to jointly develop Home Compost biodegradable mono-oriented transverse shrink films. This partnership includes a master supply agreement of CARBIOS Active, the enzymatic solution developed by CARBIOS for PLA biodegradation. CARBIOS Active is integrated directly into the transformation process to make these PLA-rich films Home Compost, while guaranteeing quality compost. Première usine de biorecyclage du PET : une nouvelle vague de recrutement finalisée ! Après avoir intégré les premiers ingénieurs et chefs de service de l’usine de Longlaville, CARBIOS franchit une nouvelle étape décisive avec le recrutement des Techniciens de Production, des Chefs d’équipe, et des Pilotes polyvalents. Ces talents jouent un rôle crucial dans le démarrage et la conduite des installations de production. 🚀 14 nouveaux collaborateurs, aux parcours variés et aux expertises solides dans les domaines de la chimie et du recyclage, ont pu découvrir le siège clermontois de CARBIOS avec au programme notamment, des rencontres privilégiées avec les équipes, une journée d’intégration dédiée, des sessions de sensibilisation à la RSE et à la sécurité. Leur parcours d’intégration se poursuivra dans les prochaines semaines par une formation sur les fondamentaux du management de premier niveau (Sécurité, Environnement, Humain, Qualité) et en génie des procédés, avant de se spécialiser dans le procédé CARBIOS. Ils contribueront ainsi activement à la rédaction des documents opérationnels, au recrutement et à la formation des futurs Conducteurs de ligne, ainsi qu'à la réception et au démarrage des installations.
