[PROJECT] The facelift of the Passerelle de l’Île ✨   📍 Geneva, Switzerland   ✔ On Tuesday, June 11th, 2024, we successfully completed the lowering operation of the Passerelle de l’Île, located in the heart of Geneva.   This heritage structure, over 140 years old, was elevated by approximately 2 meters by our teams in April 2023. This led to a full clean-up of the original lead-based coat, in addition to the reinforcement of the metallic structure and its foundations. Now, the fully renovated pedestrian bridge has been carefully lowered to its final position.   💪 Freyssinet Suisse SA , in partnership with Hebetec Engineering AG, employed four hydraulic jacks, each with a capacity of 70 tons, connected to a control pump to ensure the synchronized lowering of all four corners with millimeter precision. Furthermore, we have supplied and installed the four permanent pot bearings.   👷♂️ Freyssinet Suisse SA has carried out his operation on behalf of Rampini & Cie SA Construction Company. [REPAIR FOR THE OLYMPIC GAMES] A remarkable achievement on the Pont de Sully in Paris, accomplished in record time!   📍 Paris, France   What have we achieved?   👉 Emergency repair and reinforcement of arches 10 and 11 on the central arch of the Pont de Sully, which were damaged when the bridge was struck by a barge on January 31st.   👉 Restoration of safe passage for cyclists and river traffic ahead of the Olympic and Paralympic Games.   🛠 The project, led by Freyssinet France and CHANTIERS MODERNES CONSTRUCTION, for Ville de Paris  involved securing the damaged arches with temporary metal beams, followed by the reconstruction using a specially designed concrete prosthesis.   👏 Well done for the exceptional coordination and dedication. The teams worked non-stop to complete the project within the tight deadline.   Together, we have achieved this incredible milestone with passion and determination! ✨ The amazing Olympics opening ceremony went smoothly as the delegations boats floated below, and the cycle race against the clock above the Pont de Sully took place as if nothing had ever happened to this heritage bridge!   #buildbettertogether #soletanchefreyssinet #olympicgames #repair

🌍 Here are some of the considerations we take into account at Freyssinet in order to integrate the environment from the beginning of a construction project 👇   👉 We choose materials based on their ecological impact  → In Laos, for Nam Theun 2 dam, Freyssinet teams collaborated to develop a very low-carbon dry shotcrete mix by using alternative binders that emit less CO2 and are sourced locally.   👉 We study the site of our project and its impact on biodiversity  → Freyssinet France installed bird-scaring systems to protect species nesting nearby a bridge during the bird breeding season.   👉 We plan for energy-efficient solutions  → The use of power packs and electric vans provides Freyssinet UK teams with the opportunity to reduce generator running times and fuel consumption.   👉 We develop a sustainable waste management plan  → During the replacement of prestressed cables on a bridge, Freyssinet España S.A.U. implemented the separation of used tendon elements to allow for the reuse of rubble on the site and facilitate the recycling of steel cables and sheathing.
