🔄 𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐲𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐭 𝐓𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐓𝐡𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐝𝐚𝐲 – 𝐀𝟒𝟔𝟓 𝐒𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐕𝐢𝐚𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐣𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 - 𝟐𝟎𝟏𝟔  🔄 Our next #FreyssinetThrowback is Saltings Viaduct – an expansion joint installation project which took place in Neath Port Talbot in 2016. Freyssinet was engaged by the client to design, supply and install a new expansion joint on the bridge. A busy trunk road in south Wales, it was necessary to minimise inconvenience to road users on the A465, so Freyssinet installed a cover plate system which allowed the bridge to stay open during daytime hours with the work taking place at night. 🔁 𝗙𝗿𝗲𝘆𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘁 𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘄𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗧𝗵𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆 - 𝗗𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝗶𝗿𝗶 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺 🔁 A landmark Freyssinet project completed in 2014. The Siri oil offshore platform is anchored in the North Sea, 220km off the Danish coast. An inspection in 2009 detected cracks in the support structure and fatigue in the legs where they were connected into the base on the seabed. Freyssinet designed and supplied an innovative cable-based reinforcement system, adapting the H2000 cable to meet the structure’s pressure resistance, comprehensive waterproofing and corrosion protection requirements. The works were completed in June 2014.
