✍ New blog post!     We’re excited to share our latest blog post by Adrien Borras, our Impact Analyst at hummingbirds. The article explores why it is crucial to foster biodiversity by planting multiple tree species in afforestation and reforestation projects.      Diverse forests not only are more resilient to pests, diseases and climate change, they also store more carbon than monocultures, whilst enhancing ecosystems and supporting local wildlife. 🌳     👉 Read the full article below to learn more about why #biodiversity conservation is so important in #ARR projects. Feel free to share any questions in the comments.      Stay tuned for our next month’s blog post!        #NaturebasedSolutions #Conservation

🌳 We are thrilled to announce our new partnership with Carbioz as part of our forestry projects in France! hummingbirds launched its first operations in France last year, funding 25 afforestation and reforestation projects across a total of 205 hectares along the western side of the Hexagon. Certified by the French Label bas Carbone, these projects aim to enhance the resilience of French forests in the face of climate change.  🌍 Among their many ecological benefits, they are projected to sequester over 42,000 tCO2e over the next 30 years. Today, we join forces with Carbioz, a leading French platform that enables companies, associations to support local decarbonization projects through the purchase of voluntary carbon credits approved by the French government (“Réductions d’Emissions”). ➡️ Want to contribute to the adaptation of our French forests to rising temperatures and changing water reserves?  Explore our projects and spread the word: Purchasing Réductions d’Emissions is an easy and impactful way to support climate solutions!  🌱 Let’s all do our part! https://lnkd.in/e83R2-HD

🔎 Are companies buying carbon credits using them as an excuse to emit more? Carbon credits are often criticized as a way for corporates to hide their lack of serious efforts to decarbonize their supply chains. Well… not really! 📉 MSCI recently released an analysis based on nearly 9,000 participants in the carbon market, highlighting a dynamic that contradicts this trendy but flawed narrative. In summary: 👉 Users of carbon credits tend to reduce their Scope 1 and 2 emissions more than twice as quickly as non-users. 👉 Users of carbon credits are significantly more likely to have set climate targets compared to non-users (92% vs. 52%!). 👉 Users generate a larger share of their revenue from low-carbon activities than non-users. Indeed, putting a price on emissions incentivizes companies to focus on emission reduction as part of their cost management strategies. It is high time to debunk the widespread demonization of carbon credit purchases. 🌏 Alongside "Avoiding" and "Reducing", any company committed to a serious emissions reduction strategy should consider high-quality carbon credits as a way to deploy climate solutions globally. Let’s all do our part! Link of the report: https://lnkd.in/dZ-vE4bE
