They helped absorb carbon from the air and controlled floods, keeping nearby communities safe. But over time, 𝐜𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞 and pollution caused the wetlands to 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐫. Organisations from different countries came together to fix this. They created a project called Wetland4Change, with the goal of restoring and protecting these wetlands using natural methods. They focused on letting nature heal itself, helping the wetlands store carbon and manage floods once again. As time passed, the wetlands began to 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫. Plants and animals returned, and the land became better at managing floods. 𝐖𝐞𝐭𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝𝟒𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞 not only restored the wetlands but also inspired people to take care of nature for the future. The project showed that by working with nature, we could protect both the environment and our communities from the impacts of climate change.
